This course is challenging, but a lot of fun! On many holes, you wouldn't think you were on a course in the middle of a city, they have such a feel of being in nature. The course is in good shape and enjoyable to play.Good food in the restaurant/bar that overlooks the course.
Very nice course, well tended, I live right on the ninth fairway, not heavily played at all. Always in nice shape, shame it is not played more. Challenging but very playable. Not too long, not to short, just right. Restaurant is pretty good and the deck has a great view of the 1st tee and the 9th and 18th greens.Quite a bit of water, but easily avoidable if you play to your ability and not try for too much.
We came here for my Rehearsal Dinner for my wedding last September and it was delicious. The venue was beautiful, and they had us set up in our own section so it was nice and quiet in preparation for our special day.
They have done a great job getting the course up and looking great after a horrible winter. If you are a local, make sure you show ID so they give you the local rates. My husband and I went at 9am, and it was $33 a person for 18 holes, versus $49 (none resident rate).
Started here with lessons in 2012 and took a woman's clinic this year all with Paul Faverio. Love the course!
I'm not originally from Metro Detroit, so when a friend took me here and said it's one of the nicer courses in the area I was excited.Do yourself a favor: Stop your research, and Google "Inkster Valley." Far superior course in the area without the pushy Ranger at every hole, eyeballing you like you're playing at a TPC. Lakes of Taylor is a DECENT course, but everyone who works there acts like it's Bethpage. Somehow this course stumbled upon the reputation of being a pristine golf course among the locals. They must not play much golf outside of Metro Detroit.Again, my completely unbiased opinion is you golf at Inkster Valley. Par 72 with a few monster par 5s - Courses with *any* Par 5s are hard to find in Detroit. It's a true diamond in the rough.
Nice pace to eat. The soups are good and different every night. They have a great Prime Rib special on Saturday. The waitresses are very nice!!
A very challenging golf course, but it is so well maintained that I have to keep going back. Much fun!!
Both Taylor courses are more trouble than they're worth. Lakes of Taylor is extremely busy and you can expect to play 18 holes in over 5 hours. Recently we booked a tee time only to find out upon arrival that another event had run over meaning our tee time (and everyone else before us ~16 people) were delayed by approximately 1 hour. No apology was offered. A simple phone call to notify us ahead of time would have been nice instead of expecting us to wait around.I purchased a package through AmazonLocal for the Taylor golf courses and it includes 10 lessons which you have to schedule EXACTLY 7 days in advance, not a day before. If you attempt to sign up 15 minutes after they open at 7 am, chances are you will not get in the class. So basically you have from 7-7:10 am to get into the classes. Everything about the package has been extremely inconvenient and they really attempt to make it as hard as possible to fully use what is included. It was a huge mistake and I wouldn't recommend it.
I got a groupon for this place and my husband really likes it. Everyone he has taken with him really likes it as well. Price-wise is about average. If you expect to pay $20 with a cart for 18 holes, you shouldn't go to a nice course like this.
When I was back on my Varasity golf team in 2008 we played here and it was my favorite course, great course!
This is the bigger of 2 Taylor courses, Beautiful, nice place to also hold a banquet, alot of room, check it out!
The city of Taylor has two really nice municipal courses. I think this one plays a little tougher than Taylor Meadows. So bring your A game! The restaurant at Lakes of Taylor is very nice, whether you just want a nice burger after a round of golf or you want to take your mother there for a nice Sunday meal.
Beautiful course, feels like your in the middle of the forrest till the plane goes over.... :)
A challenging track that rewards a good shot. Not tricked up. You'll play it once and want to come back and play it again.
