My daughter and I go to the market every Saturday for the best salsa in the world (Motor City Salsa). While we're there we grab some Neu Kombucha, fresh eggs, veggies and fruits for the week as well as organic meats from John Henrys and delicious paleo treats from Happy Belly Bakeries!

Located on the south side of 11 Mile Road (316 East 11 Mile), two blocks east of Main Street, the Royal Oak Farmer's Market is open on Friday (May through Christmas) and Saturday (year around) from 7am to 1pm. Vendors sell from stalls in the enclosed market building as well as outdoors, even in cooler weather. It's really quite nice to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables, cut and dried flowers, baked goods, spices, soaps, teas, plants, mushrooms, jewelry, clothing, tamales, pies, eggs, sausage, chickens and chocolates. Each week familiar regulars and new faces show up with a delightful array of goods to sell. We love strolling through the market often, for the wonderful sights and smells, many times accompanied by music from local musicians. On Sunday, from 8am until 3pm, the farmer's market becomes a flea market, with a constantly changing assortment of antiques and other goodies to browse. The Royal Oak market building frequently hosts other fun events outside of the farmer's market and flea market hours.
