This is a well run, well managed horse racing track. It is clean with a respectable mannerly crowd, and a very good restaurant. The food, service, and general look and feel is top of the line for a race track. Customers are usually pleasantly surprised with the whole experience.

If you are in the area and want to experience a little gambling drop by to bet on the horses. The food is mediocre but it is fun for a different experience. The facility is a little run down.

A nice clean place with good service and good food at a very resonable price. For a gambling place it is very well managed with pleasent employees. Always have had a good time.

Fun if you like gambling. You can easily just gamble a little & still have a great time. Old building but doesn't bother me.

Free parking, free admision at a typical worn out old facility, typical worn out old crowd. Look around and ask. "Am I smarter than these people or are they smarter than me?" They are your competition. Read up on the subject. Learn how to read the program. It's not that hard to come out ahead. We sat in the clubhouse so we could get a table and be out of the cold. On a nice day I'd be on the rail listening to the thunder of hoofbeats. Two of us had sandwiches. One had fish and chips, total with tip was $37. Fine for what it was. On Saturday they have a buffet I haven't tried yet. Horse racing of all kinds is fast becoming an anachronism see it while you still can, even though this is not the Kentucky derby it's still fun!

Third rate grill with not much to offer. Crappy choice of beer. Surly service.Poor chili for the cheep dogs.

I have never watched a horse race. I have been to a casino all of twice. This is not my typical scene. I went with my husband and some friends and had A BLAST. I loved the environment! Good food, fun gambling - I will definitely go back!

Haven't been here for almost 30 years. Always enjoyed the races and believe it or not most of the time I came home ahead of the game. Always nice when you win and at the time I always kept up with the winning horses.

Lots to bet on. It is rare to find such a fun place - with a unique entertainment in the middle of a beautiful charming city. Stay for dinner at the downtown pizza place called Starting Gate - it adds to the extra enjoyment.

The building is very dated and very dirty. The staff is not organized and the place smells like smoke a lot!

I was disappointed. I had looked forward to watching horses racing. Instead it was noisy, old grungy booths, smoke filled and the glass was dirty so that it was difficult to see the race. I don't recommend it unless you are really into the gambling.

The 'downs' is a fun place to watch the trotters and place a wager. Sit upstairs for a few $ and enjoy the view.

I have lived in many metro Detroit cities and this is the most absurd place I've been yet. It's a complete inbred city full of hillbillies trying to act rich. Drunk neighbors that bully everyone on the street by parking where they are not supposed to, calling you names, dwelling on their porch(es), bonfires in their front yard, parties until all hours of the night...it's a bit much for as costly as this place is to live.Further, every place and I mean EVERY place in this town overcharges you for crappy service and product/food. The "art gallery" is a COMPLETE joke as well as their town festivals, farmers markets, and town theater. Do yourself a favor and don't visit this city. It's NOT worth your precious money. Seriously, folks, I'm not just someone with a beef or complaint. This city doesn't deserve anything except to crumble.
