Great service.Good pub grub like burgers,pizza and some Irish fare.Small but can accommodate large groups in the upstairs room.They have lots of weekend happenings.Check thier online site.

This was our second dining experience here. We were visiting the Canteburry Village before Christmas to see the new layout of the Always Christmas shoppes and have a nice afternoon.The menu noted that there were several new items. (Not sure if this is because of a new chef or trying new menu items ?) We had the Irish burrito (corned beef stuffed into a soft tortilla shell) with chipotle sauce and wedge potatoes. We were not disappointed as it was pretty good.The table next to us had burgers, fish & chips and pizza which looked quite good as well. Service was fairly good although out waiter seemed quite busy (not sure if because of short staffed or the norm as it was the weekend before Christmas). It appeared like there were many 'young managers' on site the time we visited.

We were attending a wedding and then reception at Canterbury on a recent Saturday. There were 2 hours in between, so we stopped into this pub for a drink. Our party of 9 was a low key group. There were no tables for 9 people so we saw the bar was empty and sat there. It took the bartender about 10 minutes to acknowledge us, but we could see she was busy, so that wasn't a problem. She started at the other end of the bar and slapped down a bar napkin asking "What do you want?" The should have clued us in, but we didn't think too much of it. As she looked in our direction, my husband made a circle with his hand and wrote in the air - the universal sign of "We are getting this bill". She stormed down to us and said " I can SEE you are sitting there?". My husband said "Okay, sorry. I was just letting you know we would pay for everyone". Again she said "I SEE you want something, I SAW you when you came in. So WHAt do you want?". AT this point I stepped in and said again that it was okay, hubby was just letting her know he would pay. She then started snarling and rolling her eyes, and asked me "What do you WANT?". I told her we wanted nothing at all from her and would just be leaving. We asked for a manager on our way out, but the bartender had already caught her and was going over what her problem with us was. The manager listened and said she was sorry, but it was said in a tone of voice that would indicated nobody was sorry. We took our business elsewhere and if this is the kind of service they have here, I would never consider going back. We eat out often and I can deal with bad service, slow service and no service. I have never had a server or a bartender come at us in such an angry way for any reason. My husband and I both worked in this industry in our younger years and we have all kinds of patience and understanding for people that serve other people. This was beyond out of control. On our way out, a patron asked what happened and we said that the bartender was having a bad day. He pointed out that she was untrained and looking up how to make drinks on her phone and also laughed and said "Why do you think the bar was empty". Take a look at my reviews. I can almost always find good things to say, but not about this place. Never, ever again.

We live in the area and eat hear every couple months. We like going for the specials...our favorite is the burger for less than $6 on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays. The service is decent and the atmosphere is comfortable.

Go for the specials. Pizza, Burgers and fish. Shepards pie good too. salads entrees not worth it. Service is inconsistent. Sports on TV, occasional band (in small space).

We have been here 4 or 5 times already and have not been overly impressed. Tried again because of the new smokehouse menu. All they had added was brisket and pulled pork.My wife had the brisket for 9.99. All she got was 3 slices of dry brisket and fries. Really?. I got the all you can eat fish and chips. Started with 2 pieces and every time i wanted more i had to flag down the waitress and she would put in the order and then come back with one piece. Even though the fish was good I gave up after 2 pieces. The service was good and it is a nice little place, but the food just does not cut it. It's a shame because it's right around the corner, but we won't be back.

Burgers are good, the atmosphere is great, the prices are a bit high for salads with iceberg lettuce, but if you are going to one of the expos (like the reptile expo which is great) it is the best place there to eat.
