cafe 210 west

Me and my husband went to sit outside on the patio at cafe 210 at 7:30. The patio was a semi busy, about half full. At 7:50 we had still not been approached by a server, even though it was table service, so we went to the bar to get our drinks. Our server, Matt A. finally came over to our table at 8:00 and looked surprised to see people sitting at his table. He came over and apologized for the wait and explained that he had been busy "doing side work" in the back. We then ordered fries with a side of cheese. Our food came out 22 mins later without our server coming out and explaining what took so long. When he finally brought the fries over, Matt apologized again with an explanation that he "completely forgot about the fries" and to "watch out for the cheese because they had to re-heat it up in the oven." There was no comp for the burnt cheese and old fries, no further apology and no server until Matt came over and said that it was time for him to go home, so we got our bill.I myself am a server. I know when to forgive another server if it is beyond busy or if the server truly feels bad that he messed up. We were his only table during the time we were there so there was literally no excuse for the most terrible service I have ever experienced. Cafe 210 is lucky that they have cheap drinks and a steady ignorant clientele because the service was so far below par, I was speechless.
