We stopped in to get some ideas of what to see in area, the lady working was very informative and helpful. Great ideas and excellent directions to everywhere.
We visited the Visitor Center booth that was on site at the Little League World Series. I was able to pick up a few maps and dinner coupons for the area. The lady who was working at the booth was quite helpful
We were looking for souvenirs & stopped in to the visitor center. The lady there was very pleasant and pointed us to Gustonian Gifts. We headed out to Gustonian giftst and I was able to find a souvenir and the ladies there were pleasant as well.
Wife wanted maps and the Hampton Inn suggested we go to the Visitor's Center. The wife who is the ultimate map reader and knowing the roads walked in to the Visitors Center. She came out with maps , directions and advise on how to get to where we were going. She walked away smiling and I enjoyed the easy drive
The woman who helped us at the center offered several good ideas for restaurants and activities. Her passion for the area was obvious and she gave clear directions to the suggested locations. She was interested in determining what our interests were and came up with possibilities based on those.
While visiting Williamsport, pick up the information on Purity Candy. Its not far, near Clyde Pealings Reptile Land. Just a short distance from Reptile land on Rt. 15 is a fantastic little Chocolate factory. Yes, sir, chocolate of all shapes and sizes. Specialties for each holiday. Be sure to get lots of special Christmas treats.
The person working at the Visitors Center was very knowledgable and helpful.
We followed the advice of a previous reviewer and were glad that we did. We received wonderful and cheerful help, and excellent recommendations as to what to see and where to eat. This is the place to go if one is new to the area.
Before heading out to explore Williamsport, PA, stop in at the Williamsport Visitors Center on Via Bella Road, in the Hampton Inn parking lot, next to Perkins. A VERY KNOWLEDGABLE woman ( and her friendly male counterpart the last time we visited) is alway ready with suggestions for neighborhood restaurants (including special deals and when too expect that parking will be difficult), local museums and attractions (it's amazing how much more Williamsport has besides the Little League Museum...there's Millionaire's Row, a library with an art glass ceilling to die for, a NASCAR museum located inside the McDonalds restaurant at the Lycoming Mall), and where to go to experience the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains. There are brochures (free), postcards, and assorted merchandise on sale inside--hours are listed on a sandwich board outfront.Have your Sunday brunch at the James Restaurant, and then walk over to the Williamsport Visitors Center--it's open and worth it!!!!!!!!
