This is an interesting store with mostly hand made items. After surviving a devastating fire they are back in there new facility.

If you are looking for an unusual gift that will last forever then this is the place for you to shop. Their coasters and hot plates are two of our favorites because everyone can use them. They have Christmas ornaments, custom made items and jewelry. There is literally something for everyone in the forge. A must see if you are in the area.

Wendell August rebuilt this wonderful store after their original forge burnt down. Here you get to shop for their wonderful items. You can also tour the factory where the items are made.

It was nice to see that Wendell August Forge has built this new facility near the outlet mall following a fire about four years ago. I fondly remember buying gifts at the original Wendell August Forge over 50 years ago while a student at Grove City College. Not only do they offer many very nice handmade items, but one can also view the factory floor in this new facility. The personnel on the sales floor were very pleasant and helpful. Not only is this a nice store to buy items for personal use, but it is an excellent source of gifts for wedding or holiday shopping.

I wasn't too thrilled to stop at this store at the beginning, but after going on their factory tour, it changed my mind. This is a stop I would recommend, plus it's close to the Grove City Outlets. The factory tour is very impressive. The company makes all kinds of things from various soft metals; platters, coasters, decorative dishes, jewelry, the list goes on. The truly amazing part of this tho is that EVERY piece is hand-made. It's not mass produced. Going thru the free factory tour, the artisans will come up to you and explain what they are doing; their part in the process and you can watch them do the actual work. And each artisan has their own symbol that is stamped into every piece they personally make. It is unbelievable how interesting it is to watch them work and to know it's all hand-made. It made me appreciate their products. And of course you can go thru the store and buy pieces. I would recommend visiting this store, taking the tour, and of course purchasing a piece or two.
