We decided to check out Fawn Creek Winery on our recent visit to the dells. It was worth the stop. The setting was really nice and I can only imagine how nice it is during the summer. I normally don't enjoy wine tastings, my wife does so that's why we go, and can rarely find a wine I like at these things. That being said I really enjoyed Fawn Creek. There were several wines that I liked and I even bought some to take home. The Granny's Gold was one we both liked and one that we bought. Oh and did I mention the wine tasting is free.
I love going to Fawn Creek , it is a beautiful setting in the woods, the staff are always wonderful and love the wine, will be going there this weekend with my sister and daughter-in-law for my birthday.
Started as a family business, Fawn Creek Winery is a hidden gem near the WI Dells hotel region. The staff at the winery are very personable and offer their wealth of knowledge with a free wine tasting experience. The atmosphere is "woodsy, cabin, but with a flair for wine decorating". Bands are offered during summer hours on a wonderful deck region. A great wine and tasting experience. Excellent job!!!!!!
A busy place with lots of wines to taste. All were excellent and loved the "slushies". The heated deck was a perfect place to sit and have a drink with friends. Definitely going back when I'm in the area.
We love Fawn Creek...the wine is excellent, along with the staff! The music on the back patio in summer is awesome!
The wine tasting was fun and informative. The main show room was open and had cute stuff to look at. We where there off season so it looked like a lot of the attraction and the grounds where closed off. The staff seemed to be knowledgeable.
Free wine sampling and they actually have you sample all their wines and explain each one! They also have wine slush that you can sample which would be get for summer entertaining.
what a wonderful winery... Very friendly and loved the wine tasting will be going back for more wine...loved the Just peachy and Summer sun.
Loved the scenery around the winery. Nice deck to sit on and enjoy a glass of wine. The person doing our tasting was very knowledgeable and the prices were reasonable. We were very happy we decided to visit on the spur of the moment.
Warm and friendly, with some really decent wines. The staff was knowledgeable about their products. Decent prices, too.
This winery is set in very scenic surroundings. The wine tasting includes every wine they produce, which allows you to make an informed decision about the ones you choose to purchase. I adore fruity wines after dinner like "liquid dessert". I am especially fond of a good blackberry wine, and this one was the best I have ever had. Unlike the many, many others I have had over the years, theirs is light and crisp and has true blackberry flavor. If you're a blackberry fan you must try this one.
I loved all the wines we tasted, the friendliness of the staff and how they made us feel at home by giving us a tray of different wine slushes to sample out on the deck! One of my favorite places we stopped on our trip to The Dells!
Where else can one combine, wine, nature, music and tapas on a weekend afternoon. The view is beautiful, the wine is pleasant and the very fact that you are less than 10 miles from Wisconsin Dells hustle and bustle makes it all the more special.
Okay, the place is so cute and I really wanted to do a tasting but 4 things kept me from actually trying the wine. 1) I was with my 8 year old and my parents who we were visiting and I was doing the driving all the way back to Madison, 2) Everyone was getting hungry and we decided to get lunch instead, 3) it was very crowded, and 4) we were afterall in Wisconsin (at the Dells no less) and I didn't feel I was missing too much by not doing a tasting. BUT, I will go back with my husband. So very nice and charming, nice store for wine-related items, covered back deck with tables and small plates kind of menu to accompany the wine (they should really actually call them small plates on the menu if they want to be relevant and trendy), live music that was terrific. Who knew there was such a charming find in the land of over-the-top?
We've gone to several wineries in the state and the tasting here is by far the best. Not only do you get to complimentary taste every wine on the list (along with the slushes) they organize the tasting into groups so you get a good explanation of the wines. In addition they have a nice selection in their gift shop. The band, outdoor sitting, and food are a great touch.
