A relatively tranquil terrain welcomes the golfer that is looking for a respite from the everyday "hustle and bustle". CVGC (Chippewa Valley Golf Club) is located on the southern outskirts of Menomonie, Wisconsin, about one hour due east of the Twin Cities and 25 minutes west of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. I play golf here about three times per year. It is a simple no frills golf course that sports four tee boxes, that range from 6,327 yards (5,785m) to 4,706 yards (4,303m). There are seven holes that are cut through or boarded by significant woods. Several of the holes have some moderate elevation changes of undulating terrain. Putting surfaces run true, average speed. Fairways are reasonable (with regard to condition-they are irrigated). There are several courses within a 50 mile radius of this one that are better venues to play golf, but I do like coming here for a change of pace. Value wise (with reference to this west central region of Wisconsin), it is a bit over priced ($38-$44 w/electric cart). The course is walkable. It lies about 15 minutes from I-94. Be sure to get proper directions before you go, for it is a bit tricky to find if you are not familiar with the area.
