johnson county museum

We visited during Christmas and the 1950's house was decorated in traditional 1950's style even with an aluminum tree. The house is totally separate from the museum and was moved to this location to preserve it. The museum itself shows the histroy of Johnson County. The tour of the house was a half hour and to see the museum it will probably take another 30 minutes to an hour. Even without the Christmas decorations the house was interesting and it was built as a promotional for the electric company. You will have a tour guide who will tell you all of the "new" features of the 1950's house and the original price as compared to others built at the same time. It is very interesting.
