the course at aberdeen

i am a member at Aberdeen and just love the golf course. Everybody is very nice and the atmosphere is total quality.The course can be tough though. Andy and Tom run a quality show. The sand traps need some work early every season, but the greens are gorgous.

The little things are missing like markers at the tees to tell the layout of the hole and yardage. You have to buy a score card with the info at $6 each. The food is snack bar quality except pricey and the drinks night club priced. I don't mind paying higher prices for luxury but don't gouge. Ask for a cooler with a multi-beer buy and you get a plastic bag with ice

Great course, close to plenty of attractions and shopping, yet still in the country. Whole family enjoyed the day.

The course is in great shape considering the recent weather. Great staff and organization. Excellent for business scrambles and foursomes. One of the best in the area.

This is the second time my wife and I have played this course. Excellent shape. We were paired with another couple and as we were headed to the tee box the starter told us to go ahead because he saw we were better players when we were warming up on the range, and we were ready to go. Front nine went well but then got backed up pretty bad on the back and it was mid-week. Overall a great experience.This is a quality golf course and a very reasonable price. We drove an hour and 10 minutes to reach the course we like it so well. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Course is in excellent shape and the greens are fast. The layout will have you hit just about every club in your bag. Clubhouse is nice with a great selection. Only complaint is I wish it was closer to where we live!

This scenic, beautifully maintained, and challenging (but fair) golf course is a treat to play. From the moment you enter the pro shop your can recognize that the entire staff is dedicated to making this a quality experience. Excellent practice facilities, too.And play early enough so that you can grab a fantastic beef brat for lunch at the turn!

I have played the course several times per year ever since it opened. The present management company has done an outstanding job running the facility. Pretty good rates for Chicago area 4-5 star course.

Golfed in September and very much enjoyed the course. Nice elevation changes and varied terrain. There are a lot of homes around the course, but it didn't seem to bother us. I would recommend this course to others. Check out the discounts offered on Golfnow.com.

Aberdeen is in good condition. The fairways, tees and greens are very nice. The rough isn't a factor, but some of the holes have long carries with hidden ravines and some holes were cart path only. On the second hole right in the middle of our fairway wasa reincarnation of Carl Spackler. This grounds keeper stoodpoking the ground in the middle of the fairway while we weretrying to tee off. After a few minutes of this I asked him what he was doing. He said that he was looking for the 150 yard marker hole oblivious of us. Later he kept following us with his noisy maintenance cart. There is no starter and no Marshall on this course. They do not allow carts in the parking lot. You have to wait for the bag man to come and take your clubs down stairs to your cart. Thisis a big time delay. There's only one bag man. After the fourth hole we ran into a group of female foursomeswho claimed to be a ladies league. The pace of play slowed toa crawl. What could have been an enjoyable round of golf was ruined bythese bumbling hacks who never asked if we wanted to play through as we waited ten minutes on every shot. This is a hilly albeit scenic course which requires long carries over valleys and dales. The 150 yard pole is frequently way off for distance and should not be relied on. This course could clean up it's act by using a good timer/starter and a roaming Marshall.

One of the best Courses that is so close to Chicago. I am a 12 handy cap and my wife 20+ and we both enjoy this course. The staff are great and very helpfull/

The grill gals cannot multi-task. Aberdeen is a slightly up-scale course, yet they serve below par food for their image that they portray. Less than impressive. Service needs to be kicked up a notch.

Very challenging course. Tight fairways, large trees, not many water hazards. Beautiful homes scattered throughout, but set back from the fairways. Nice clubhouse and facilities. Recommended by a 12 handicapper.
