A great place to stop and check out some motorcycles while in Sturgis, SD. The bike were very nice. There are a lot of cool bikes.
If you love to see your motorcycles this is a place to go very cool display lots of things to look at every time you go through
A fun place to stop in and check out while your visiting Sturgis. We took our children and they enjoyed it as well. Our daughter is 7.
I thought the collection of bikes was really cool.. Pretty much something that everyone will like.. Not exactly a kid place.. More for adults who can respect a beautiful bike & the history behind it..
If you are a motorcycle fan, the town itself is a mecca for motorcyclist anyway and the museum is greatA good selection of bikes over the 2 floors and what I liked was the Hall of Fame information panels showing the human side of motorcycling.A well stocked shop is at the entrance/exit to complement the collection of historic motorcycles
If you like to look at motorcycles, it's a nice place, set up well. More of a guy thing I suppose, but there's several gal's that ride their own bike as well. It's mostly older bikes so it's not like your shopping for a bike or anything. Lots of neat old bikes to see how they were years back. They sure have come a long way, not to many 2 passenger bikesback in the day or long road trip bikes. Don't think the bike or the rider would have made too long of a trip.
Sturgis is apparently a quiet little town except for Bike Week and everything centers around that event. The museum was set up well and the ladies working in there were very nice - the guys really enjoyed seeing all the different motorcycles.
What a nice place to see the old motorcycles and the progression to the newer ones. Many were very unique. It's very interesting and well done. Definitely well worth the time.
My husband and I visited here last week. Well done and interesting. If you like motorcycles, you'll love this museum with all its history and motorcycles dating back to the early 1900s.
It was a real treat to visit this motorcycle museum. I didn't realize bikes had been around for so long. The museum is surprisingly large with two floors of bike displays. The staff was pleasant and eager to answer any questions. The gift shop was well stocked and reasonable in price. This is a must visit for anyone taking the time to stop in Sturgis, SD. Next year, 2015, will be the 75th Anniversary of Sturgis Bike Week and they will be gearing up for it big time. Take a ride to Sturgis and have some fun!
We went to see the mustang rally because we heard it was happening on labor day weekend. But decided to visit the motorcycle museum and the different bikes showcased in many different rooms so amazing you have to see it to believe it . Don't touch please, take pictures yes! Romantized definitely . If you think the $15 fee for two to steep them the place not or you. Visit downstairs lots or rare bikes to admire for sure. Go and see it if you can. Just be prepare next years 75th anniversary in Sturgis will be crazy
Wow! When I saw the front of the building, I thought the collection would be small. Actually, the building goes back and is quite large, although they probably could stand an expansion. The entry fee of $15 for two people was just right! In fact, the reasonable fee made it worthwhile to also give a donation. The collection here is fantastic, and well preserved! Seriously, the quality of this collection will blow your mind. I could spend hours here, geeking out over the bikes (but I have to be mindful of the Missus, lol). You absolutely do not want to miss the motorcycle museum when in Sturgis!
Just because you put a few old motorcycle is a building does not make it a museum. To me iths not worth the money or time.
At first glance from Main Street, I doubted the museum would be worth the entry fee. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by the size and rarity of the collection. Be sure to check out downstairs portion of the collection. They could use the larger building (that is planned) to display the motorcyles. The fee was $10.00 each or 2 for $15.00. Worth the money.
Great collection of bike all with great stories. They have a feature where you can use your phone to get the stories of the exhibits which was nice. Really enjoyed the tour.
