I'm lucky enough to play 140/150 rounds of golf a year, so I've played from the coast to the mountains -- this little darlin' is a superb course.. You've got elevation changes on almost every hole .. you have super tight par 3's -- water were you don't want it, greens faster than a F-22 Raptor .. you have long narrow fairways with drop down roughs and you have 600 acres of raw woods looking to eat your ball -- it's an excellent course and it's fun to play...It's well maintained, the staff is friendly and the views are amazing ..plus, you can't beat the $29 fee to play it .... oh, bring some extra balls.
Our group of 15 loved the quality of the course and the spectacular views. Best of all was the $25 price for green fees and cart.
Greens were in good shape, as were the fairways. Great price. It's not some of the surrounding courses at The Cliffs, but then again you know that going onto the course.
beautiful and challenging course.... the par 3 looking out to the mountain landscape is breath-taking
WARNING: No alcohol served. The service and the facilities are top shelf. The cart attendant, the course staff, and the food service people were all outstanding. The hot dog was great. We were a group of 4. The course is tough and demanding. The price was very reasonable. However, I found it (along with our entire group) to be poorly put together. It seemed like every green was either climbing a mountain to get to it or from it. The cart paths were routed wrong. Also, the hillsides (it is a "mountain type" of course) were backwards --- dogleg right and the slope was harshly to the left and vice versa. There were a lot of blind tee shots and others that were cleverly hidden. Frankly I found it too tough for an average golfer.
Very nice track. Challenging but fair. Defintinely worth the drive. Price is very good, only not sure if they are still serving beer any longer? Might be a problem if them don't..
Beautiful views provide for an even more entertaining round of golf on this Pete Dye mountain course. Well manicured from tee to green but with plenty of challenge for any level of golfer. The changes in elevation provide for an added test. Set in the Piedmont region of the SC upstate countryside this course is good for a round of golf or a weekend getaway. Rental condos are on site. Golf packages are available. Club includes a pro-shop and a restaurant facility.
