The gallery and center on Laurens' Street is wonderful, staffed by competent volunteers that are always welcoming. The programs sponsored, including the children's summer camp programs are outstanding.
If you are looking for something unique for your home, or a gift, stop in and browse here. They have jewelry, note cards and lots of beaut handcrafted items. I love coming in and finding something different.
A great place where the locals can exhibit their artistic wares. Some great buys to be had..Many beautiful paintings which change monthly as well as pottery, sculpture, jewelry and much more..
This is a community gem. Free exhibitions which are usually pretty interesting in a beautifully renovated building in downtown Aiken. Classes offered periodically for all ages. Nice gift shop.
I'm a bit partial, being from here.....but it is a joy to go in to see local artist's creations, browse the gift area and talk to other locals.
this is always a place to stop when visiting Aiken and was lucky enough to visit today while a wonderful art show is hanging and the three of us visiting all managed to purchase paintings at great prices. a truly varied wonderful inventory!
a stop in Aiken is not complete without treating yourself to the Center for the Arts; always a great experience
Conveniently located on the main street in downtown Aiken, it is easy to incorporate into any visit downtown. Free to the public. Center offers many art classes throughout the year for all ages for reasonable fees. Open and interesting and inviting. Nice to visit with friends.
I always find something for gifts to my friends. I attend all sort of art activities and presentations. Aiken has superb artists~~modern and traditional.
It's a great venue downtown. Lovely look at local artist and children's art section. I've been to several events there and enjoyed each one.
If you need to pop into just to use one of the downtown toilets in Aiken, feel free to do so here. Just take some time afterwards to view the local and regional artistic talent presented within this 22000 square feet facility. Stop in at the museum shop located just within the building entrance before leaving to select a reasonably priced souvenir from among the varied selection of photographs, hand made, multicolored glass ornaments, paintings, jewelry and cards created by the fantastic artists in and around Aiken.
Aiken Center for the Arts is a relaxing place to visit and shop. You can find art to view and art to buy. The Aiken Center for the Arts is located in the old general store dating back to the early 1900s. Take a nice spring or fall day to view the shops along Lauren St. Remanence of the days long ago lost.
This center makes me wish we lived closer to Aiken. It appears to be a wonderful venue for lots of artful occasions. The local art presented is varied and of quite good quality, and is supplemented with a variety of cute gift items that are not made in the area. The building itself is lovely, and the personnel are always friendly. I make sure I visit every time I am in town.
The Center hosted the 36th Annual Bluebird Society Conference on Thursday and Friday (October 4 & October 5). The conference was held on the second floor (Brown Pavilion). On the same floor another large room provided space for the silent auction with items to bid on displayed on tables. Another room was used as an information center to distribute material and to provide vendors a venue. Restrooms are available on this floor. An elevator and/or stairs take you up from the first floor. When you enter the Center, you are in the gift shop. Behind the store are the gallery spaces (that you pass through to get to the second level). The main gallery displayed a Wildlife Exhibition. There was a display of paintings by a local artist in the back of this huge space. The seats in the lecture hall were comfortable folding chairs. The Audio/Visual equipment worked well. The room temperature was just right. It was a very good facility for this conference. The Center is located downtown.
