We hit a number of the tasting rooms in one day, and The Parsonage was by far the best. The depth of their wine was outstanding, and the tasting room manager made it a great experience. Strongly recommend...and join the wine club, you will love getting their wines once you are back home.

What a great wine-tasting experience. We were fortunate that Bill, the owner, was minding the shop on the day we visited. Our intent was to taste, perhaps buy a bottle or two, and visit one or two additional wineries. We had such a great time tasting, talking with Bill and his customers (regulars Suzanne and Mike and another young couple) that we stayed for more than 2 hours swapping stories, accepting local restaurant recommendations, and listening to local gossip. This is no corporate winery, people; its the kind of personal experience we most enjoy when wine tasting --- meeting the people who own/run/staff the winery and hearing their stories over a wine tasting. Bill has some very good reds -- a few priced a little high, but all very good. Go for the good wines, but allow more than the perfunctory 15-to-20 minutes for a tasting, as this lovely little winery and charming owner will drawn you in, and you will want to say to chat like old friends.

We are regular visitors to Napa and Sonoma and when in Pacific Grove for a week vacation we decided to visit one or two Carmel Valley wineries. Jeff was behind the counter when we visited, Jeff knew his wine and was a pleasure to chat with. We purchased a bottle of the 2012 Hawk Reserve Pinot Noir. Jeff recommended two more wineries but we one stopped at one he gave us a complimentary tasting card for. We ate lunch in the village and had a wonderful time (another review). When back on the peninsula we will definitely drop by Parsonage again and given our other experiences maybe even stay in the valley rather than on the coast.

This place has friendly staff and good wine. We shared a flight to be able to taste more in a day. The winery is family owned and seem to take pride in their craft. all or most I think were estate grown and vineyards named after grand kids. I found the wine good, but didn't buy a bottle (tho I don't think I bought a bottle in Carmel Valley at all). I ran out of time and didn't get to hit Holman (next door), Bernardus, or Boekenoogen which I was told were tops. Cima and Marilyn Remark were also pretty good. All in all, a great stop for wine, food, and relaxation here.

Best red wine in the area and a wonderful place to go in and try samples! We decided to have wine shipped to our home in another state. We highly recommend!

The tasting room is adorned with family and local artwork including quilts, paintings and photos, which makes it visually interesting while tasting. Aside from the wines, the best part was the relaxed atmosphere and talking to the server who was obviously knowledgeable and passionate about the wines. We tried their reserve level wines, but actually liked their second label wines better (especially at their price point). Their second label is Snosrap, which is a tongue twister until you realize that it's Parsons spelled backward. We ended up with a three pack of the Snosrap - a Pinot, a Rhone-ish blend and a Bordeaux. It was one of the best tasting room experiences of the day and definitely worth a visit.

My husband and I thought Parsonage was probably our favorite wine of the day on the wine trolley tour. We enjoyed the selection and purchased as much as we could get in our luggage. We chose the Bordelais Red Wine. The inside of the winery was very interesting as the owner's wife is a quilter and the inside was lined with huge prints of her quilts. Her designs have been used on the front of their bottles. What talent! Don't miss Parsonage! The lady sharing the wine with us was very sweet and knowledgeable. She really sold the wine!
