Thanks for the stellar review! We offer lessons for all abilities starting at 3 years old to adults. The lesson packages are the best deal because they include the lesson, rentals, and lift ticket. -Jackie

Parents also love the Sierra Scout All Day Adventure (ages 7-12) and March of the Penguins All Day Packages (ages 4-7) because it lets them get a full day of skiing in too! -Jackie

My wife made good progress during her fourth time on skis thanks to the instructors at Diamond. They offered good explanations, which was a real plus as English is not her native tongue. She was pleased with her progress and came home tired but happy.

We took the kids to Incline for their first ski experience. We wanted to make sure the kids got lesson on their first visit and Diamond peak had many options (groups, private, half and full day) so it was easy to accommodate our schedules. We decided to try the morning session which turned out to be great. We dropped them off at 10:00am and I sat in the Lodge and gathered them back at noon and we had lunch before they went on their own the rest of day. Instructors were great and the kids seemed to really like them and enjoy the experience. Definitely a plus for fist timers. They obviously learned the basics and were able to take the lifts and hit the easy slopes the rest of the day. I didn't expect that but that was excellent. Also, if you stay at the Hyatt, you can just rent skis, boots and poles all at the hotel prior and set up all the lessons prior to going to Diamond Peak! They even have a shuttle. Very easy and convenient. Also, lastly, get the Diamond Peak discount cards at Costco before you come for great ease and savings. You buy $100 cards for $79.99 and you can use them at the Hyatt shop or at any venue at Diamond Peak. Big savings. Great place and location for a beginner trip and just a simple and fun family outing.

The ski school has great facilities, good instructors and is convenient for parents and grandparents alike.

Had a lesson with Jim. He was a nice guy and really knows what he is talking about. He used to compete professionally and ran a ski academy. The downside was the $180 price tag and the fact we never really went over anything to do with the boots or skiis. My first tumble, I didn't know I had to push the clamp down to lock my boot in because we never went over that.

We had a great time here at diamond peak. My five yr old and seven hr old had a full day lesson. The instructors all seemed to be great!!! By the end of the day, they both knew what they were doing. And it was their first time ever on skis!! The perfect long slight slope to learn on!! My husband and nine year old did the other runs and really enjoyed it. Even when the snow was just about gone!! End of season, but we will be back!!

Our three kids learned how to ski in about 30 minutes. Wide variety of slopes and difficulty, but for a local place it was perfect and resonably priced for a family of non-skiiers!

Check my kids in with two different instructors for a half day ski school and watched most of the class for both of them while taking photos. Both instructors were extremely attentive and very helpful and patient with the kids. Generally I was very impressed with the staff at this resort they truly were all extremely nice and very helpful.

Kids did two half days of ski school. Both days they had great instructors. They are intermediate boarders and had never gone beyond blue runs. By the second day they were not afraid of black diamond runs...... even though I am! We tipped the instructors $10-$20 and they gave us a $10 off coupon for the next day's lesson. I took an intermediate lesson which was pretty good.

Diamond Peak Ski School has been an important staple in the Tahoe and Reno/Carson ski communities for decades. The teachers are genuinely interested in the progress of their pupils and the mountain has managed to maintain that family friendly, homey, local mountain feel.Much like the surfers seeking their endless summers, the ski instructors tend to be New Zealanders who are in pursuit of their endless winter by teaching in Tahoe while it is summer in their homeland. Delightful and engaging, Diamond Peak continues to be my hometown favorite because of the staff alone. There is no vibe here. The staff and patrons embrace the sport of ski and board because it is a great family activity. All 3 of my kids went through the program and they continue to be avid skiers today, some 17 years later.

I sent a relative to the ski school over President's Weekend last year. The school seems to manage to accommodate everyone, but the lessons are compromised by groups which are too large trying to work in an area which is too small. My cousin (an adult) left the group and it is doubtful that her absence was noted. The school has a good reputation but the beginners areas are small. I am sure that it would have been a better experience at a less "prime" time.

The school - and much of the resort - caters to the beginner and is the perfect venue for families learning to ski. The instructors are attentive, the slopes ranging from near-flat to as aggressive as any beginner would want, and they have a complete rental facility.

If you need lessons, this is a great place to do it. First, easy access to the mountain. Second, the beginner slopes are good, in terms of having more than one level to learn on. Third, the instructors all seem friendly and knowledgable. I got to know a half-dozen of them (three of us were taking lessons), and I liked them all. Last, can't beat the price here. No reason to pay a premium at Heavenly or Squaw Valley.

Loved the instructors. We went through several levels at several ages. Great instructors each time. More expensive than places we've been in Europe, but well worth it.
