I've been to several productions at Barnstormers. I am almost always pleased with the quality of the acting and the thoughtfulness given to the staging. This is a tiny, tiny space - the front row of seating is 3 feet from the stage. If you like seeing plays up close and personal, this is the venue for you. The small size of the theater and stage sometimes requires great innovation and inventiveness is how the play is staged which oftentimes enhances the charm of the production. The entire crew - actors, directors, stage crew, everyone involved in the production - are all volunteers. We are lucky to have this theater in Grants Pass. The Barnstormer season runs from September to June - with summers off.
This little theater consistently gives good to great performances. It brags of being the "oldest, continuing community theater in Oregon." The performers are drawn from the community as are the directors, all of varying experiences and usually gone through the colleges/schools in the areal. They are not afraid to put seniors up on the stage for various roles. Do put it on your list of stops.
Saw their presentation of Little Women and it was excellent. Very small theater but wonderful local actors put on superb presentation.
I took my mom to see Larry's Best Friend, well my mom hasn't gotten out to do anything in quite awhile and we both just really enjoyed it. The staff with the Barnstormers are incredibly wonderful and I look forward the next play we decide to go to. I recommend anyone coming to Grants Pass, if theirs a play going on here come and check it out at the B.Stormers.
Community theater with heart. I took my family to see "Scrooge". We all enjoyed it. The actors were good, the staging was good, and the costumes were good. Very clever how they did the ghosts.
Love this theatre. Very quaint structure turned into a theatre. Wonderful actors and plays! Great value for the entertainment.
