Amazing wine and tasting room staff. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Love stopping here on every trip through wine country. Wine club members for over 6 years.

Beautiful grounds…the wine was fabulous and the servers very informative. We had a special tasting in a beautiful facility. Great way to start our Oregon wine tasting trip!!

Off the beaten path a bit but when you come up to the great view & winery building it is a wow. Liked the wines & especially the servers. Hey part of the experience in life is who you meet along the way.

While the wines were fine, they weren't anything special, and ranked as some of the least memorable of our time in the area. The one person in the tasting room wasn't especially helpful, answering questions with a bare minimum of information. I would spend time elsewhere - not worth a visit.

From our drive up the winding driveway to sampling outstanding wines, these vineyards are a little piece of paradise. All rows were clean & manicured with beautiful green vines full of ripening fruit of different varietals. The gardens around the main building were in full bloom. People were sampling wines inside & out. We had three pinot noirs & a late harvest riesling. They were all from their vineyards in the surrounding area. The Five Mountain & Shea pinot's were sturdy & complex with floral notes, good fruit, slight earth, & savory. Nothing lightweight here & a nice, deep color. The reisling was deep honeyed on the nose & sweetly dry with a little wood on the initial taste. Good acidity. It had a long finish with the sweetness lingering on the tongue & a great mouth feel.If you like visiting vineyards & wineries, Elk Cove is a must stop. Their wines are a true representation of the best the Willamette Valley has to offer.

I was planned to leave Portland in Friday, unfortunately I need to re-schedule my plan to have extra stay till next Monday. After some hard work on reschedule my flight, and hotel. I believe it's time to have some rest in Portland. I found Elk Cove through website surfing, and decide to have a visit right away. What a wonderful Saturday morning, and nice host. They even have BBQ party event in that evening. The place is nice, wine is nice (especially prefer the 1st taste one, it did have very rich apple flavor), and host is even more nicer. Definitely need to have a visit if you have time in Portland.

A wonderful location! A sweeping bowl of vineyards surround the winery, with a ridge of vines cascading downhill. The reds are good; I was very pleasantly surprised at the dry whites (gris, blanc, reisling). Disappointed that there were no vineyard or winemaking tours, and that the tasting room staff didn't know what the vineyard teams were doing.Would recommend visiting.

We made a point to stop by this vinyard on the way to Pacific City. What a great decision. It is a beautiful area with views of the rolling vinyards. The wine was exceptional with a nice variety available for tasting. Two that stand out were the 2010 Pinot Noir Shea and the 2010 Pinot Noir Five Mountain. Oregon has some of the best Pinot Noir in the world and these two were excellent. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable and helped us with details on how to get our purchases back home. We live out of state and checked a case on the plane with the shipping container Elk Cove provided us. Make sure to stop by this vinyard if you are in the Yamhill County area. You'll be glad you did.

Elk Cove was the best winery we visited on Thanksgiving weekend. Staff was extremely friendly and wine was outstanding. This is a must stop, you don't want to miss. They make some of the best Pinot Noir in the valley.

We are from VA and so looked forward to going to Elk Cove vineyard. We were in the Dundee Hills area and to make sure we did not miss Elk Cove we drove 40 minutes out of our way to taste Elk Cove wines. We had a beautiful picnic at their picnic table then went in to their tasting room really anticipating tasting their wines. Well, there was a group of four there that were finishing up their tasting. That was fine. Usually with only four in our experience the hostess would say" be right with you". Well no look, no acknowledgment, no nothing. So we waited. And looked around. Finally the other group left and we thought now us! Well the hostess never smiled, just put two glasses up, poured the wine and walked away!! I couldn't believe it. No explanation of the wine we were drinking, no how are you, no nothing. Then she went over and started working on some papers. It was like I drove all the way from VA to taste your wine, then made sure I got to your winery, and we are being treated like this. Then another lady came out from behind and took over. The first lady just left with no explanation. This second lady never smiled, but did pour the second wine and talked some with our questions. My point.... It was like neither one wanted to be there at all. But it certainly tainted our experience. I thought we might actually buy a case of wine, but after that poor experience of pouring wine we brought two wines just because I knew they had good wines. So much for customer satisfaction.

These people make seriously great wines. The winery is located high on a ridge of the coastal range with nice views to the west and over their vineyards. The tasting room is lovely.

Especially enjoy their Pinot Griege and Pinot Blanc wines. Great view from the tasting room, bring some food by a bottle of wine and have a picnic.

This was one that stood out on my recent wine tasting tour. Very nice wines. It was new for me that you need to pay for winetasting , but I guess thats common in the U.S....

Beautiful, relaxing, quiet, attended an event here once and it was a perfect setting.

This winery is well worth winding through the country roads to find. The tasting room has a wonderful view of the surrounding vineyards. I found the staff to be very easy going, friendly and knowledgeable. The tasting fee is very reasonable and the wine is excellent. They produce a number of wines including Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. I certainly plan to visit when in the area again.
