This park has it's ups and downs. There is a nice play area and it's right across the street from the large local library. A lot of community events are hosted here as well. However, a homeless day center is right on the other side and many teenagers congregate here. The crowd can get a little sketchy at times.

A nice little park next to OSU, right across from the library on Monroe Street. Paths, lawns, trees, benches, gazebo... the usual. During the summer this is the location of various craft fairs and music events. Central Park is unfortunately the hangout for some of Corvallis's derelicts. Its not a big problem, but can be noticeable.

This is a nice park and would be a lot nicer park if the city didn't encourage the homeless to hang out here. Nothing against homeless people, but some of them can get aggressive which makes taking little kids to the park a problem. It wasn't always like this. My family used to spend a lot of time there but something has changed that makes it attractive to people who are killing time.

Corvallis Central Park is a great place for a study, meeting, birthday, or just to run around and have fun! I am pretty sure that this is Corvallis's city park. My 5 year old twins, Maya and Megan chose this location for several special occasions. Great place for playing kickball, and a loop around the park make's for a fantastic way to get some exercise.

This park brings lots of memories, not only because it's like a mini version of Central Park in NY but because I took my two boys there all the time when they were little. It has a playground and sand area that kids love.

Central Park is a one block area on the west end of downtown. If you are visiting Corvallis and need a break for awhile or a place to have an outdoor lunch, this is one option. There is plenty of open grassy space and some playground equipment for kids to burn off energy. What I find less appealing about Central Park is that it may also bring you the recognition that Corvallis has a homeless issue. It would not be surprising to encounter some homeless folks hanging out in the corner of the park near 6th and Madison. I used to like walking through Central Park in the early morning and sometimes early evening (after dark) but don't feel so comfortable doing that anymore. A good place to spend some down time if you are in the downtown area for an afternoon is the area around the Courthouse at 4th and Monroe (a few blocks from Central Park). There are benches and shade there for a break from a warm summer afternoon.
