I do not even want to click a rating circle! We went down a narrow road to a gate with a van with the back window covered in plastic. Two large dogs on the other side, big painted red letter sign saying "Honk Horn". We did, no response, waited and then I hit the horn again. A woman came up and told us to move our vehicle up because we were blocking the drive way. We did, then got out of our vehicle and walked towards the woman. She said "Cash only and she didn't have any change, as she had given to the customers before us: The price was $8 for each." I told her I would not give her $4 extra, as we only had $20's. She could of cared less, so we left. We asked for her to open the gate so we could turn around, she refused. We had to back up 75ft before we found a place wide enough to turn around. Went a block east of there and found a great place called "Great Cats World Park"

Stumbled upon this amazing place on a road trip from Seattle to Los Angeles. If I hadn't had such an attentive co-pilot we could have easily missed this amazing sanctuary. After turning in you'll follow a small dirt road that dead ends to a large gate. Upon arrival you'll be greeted by one of the owners. The tour is only $8 dollars and for what you're getting they could easily charge double. The place is loaded with a wide variety of exotic animals and each has its own unique story as to how they ended up in this small Oregon town. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to wonder the entire property and take everything in. We would have easily stayed all afternoon if I hadn't brought up our need to get back on the road.

Small, understated signs confusing at first when spotted off parkway. Appears to be an extension of Great Cats park but what sits at the end of the narrow gravel road had so much more than what was expected. You park outside the fence and honk your car horn. One of the owners, Bonnie and Bill will come out and greet you. For $8, you get a tour of the entire property by one of the owners who built this preservation center/rescue from the ground up. It is immediately apparent how huge their hearts are and how much they believe in their mission, to advocate for and rescue exotic animals in need. They have been doing it for 30+ years and care for each and every animal as if they are their own children. They sacrifice their time, energy and money for the sake of the animals which is easily apparent. There are several different tigers including a 650 lb one, 3 lions, several other exotic cats, a jaguar, camels, a kangaroo, lemur, horses, goats, wolves, Savannahs. We got a private tour which lasted a bit over an hour but we could have easily stayed longer if we weren't in a bit of a rush. Though unable to come into direct contact with the large cats, you are able to pet and spend quality time with all of the others. You are also very close to the tigers during certain points of the tour. They really take the time to answer any questions you may have, inform you of the history of each animal and are 2 of the most incredible people I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with. Their genuine desire to help animals in need is admirable and they deserve an award! Please visit their property. You will not be disappointed and they will definitely use every dollar they make to care for the several incredible animals they have. If you have the ability to donate and are an animal lover who wants to contribute, definitely consider the Tiger Preservation Society! They work day and night to care for these animals and operate on limited funding. I feel like this review is gonna come off as biased but it is 100% true and accurate. I just want to help these heroic human beings.
