The SoMar Wine Cellars is a delightful spot to stop before dinner, or hang for a while. The wine presentation is fun and the appetizers are nice compliments. The furnishings are light and comfortable. Wish it were in my neighborhood!
The decor and layout is very chic but also comfortable, and there is a great outdoor patio with a firepit for when it cools down. The wine list was a bit limited but every glass we tried was delicious. There is an extensive bottle selection, as well. The service was attentive without being pushy, and it was a nice way to end the evening. We will definitely be visiting again when we are in the area.
In town for business and was intrigued by the sign out front. Simar offers both retail and dine-in service. Tough a limited number of bottles the breadth of wines meets anyone's needs and the prices are reasonable. They have both an inside bar and a enclosed shaded patio. I sat on the TiVo and enjoyed a number of white and red selections by the glass. I was impressed by each for the quality of the wine and the price. I also enjoyed a delicious cheese plate with three cheeses, red grapes, herb crusted hard salami and an assortment or olives. My only suggestion would be to find a local fresh bread to replace the package tasting toast points. Well worth a visit.
Excellent place for a bottle before or after dinner. Quiet laid back atmosphere. Decent wine selection.
This is a great little wine bar in downtown Wooster, OH. The ambiance is comfortable and relaxed and the wine prices are very reasonable. There is a quiet outside deck area out back. If you enjoy wine, this is a great place to spend an evening with friends.
My husband and I enjoyed wine on the patio during the day and even returned that evening for the live music entertainment while sitting my the fireplace. Great location (next to St. Paul Hotel and across the street from City Steakhouse) and friendly service. Will definitely visit again.
I travel to Wooster, OH often on business and always plan to stay overnight to enjoy a night's stay at a B&B on Market Street (Market Street Inn) and enjoy a GREAT dinner at South Market Bistro. If you enjoy a nice wine bar with ability to purchase some wine to taste before dinner with comfortable seating, a must is to visit SoMar Cellars which is just down the street from South Market Bistro. Great to start your evening with a tasting and relaxing in their seating area before dinner (and a wine purchase from their very good wine selection). In the cooler evenings, they have a fireplaces inside as well as outside with seating to relax in. If you wish to stay a bit and enjoy some light apps with your wine purchase, you can purchase food from one of the area reataurants (Broken Rocks, South Market Bistro, and / or the steakhouse across the street from the South Market Bistro) and enjoy it at SoMar.
