mother's pub & grill gainesville

I am visiting my friend in Gainesville for the first time. Brian takes me to Mother’s. It is one of his favorite watering holes. We go to drink, eat, and watch the National Collegiate Football Championship. Mother’s is packed, no seats and standing room only so we spend time on the street out front smoking. I have an aura about me that attracts street people so I’m listening to this guy when Brian comes up and states, “There is some standing room outside on the porch.” We climb onto the porch next to a table where one gentleman is seated with one stool not being used. Brian asks if I can sit down there on the stool at his table. The man says, “Sure.” Well, we had a ball here. Before we knew it two others, join us, and there are five of us at this little table, watching the game, ordering wings, and drinking a variety of special shots and having several beers. Our server is great. She knows Brian since he is a regular and is on the ball with our orders. Mother’s is special, a terrific pub & grille with great service and food. Here is an eclectic crowd of various folks, university students, locals, visitors from out of town, and regulars. The table next to us has a card game going during our entire time here. Also, another street person starts chatting with me while I’m sitting on the porch. I tell Brian, “Don’t think this is the end of it for the night is young." We stay for three-quarters of the game and intend to watch the fourth quarter at his home. The wings and drinks are great. The company and atmosphere entertaining. I am not so sure what’s Irish about Mother's. Mother's is an ideal place to watch the game and enjoy my friendship with Brian.

Mother's has the best wings for any local bar that I've ever been to. It's a good place to sit down and have a drink to watch a game, but you should definitely try the wings while your there. They have probably 20 sauces to choose from and allow you to mix and match the sauces. Just know that you can't take the leftovers home on Monday nights when they are on sale.
