southern skies ranch

We are not horsemen. We are the people that rent horses from a hack farm when they go on vacation. I figured Southern Skies was going to be the same, but it was not. I learned more about horses and riding in 4 hours with Paula, the owner of Southern Skies than all the other 20 years of "vacation" riding put together. Paula was kind enough to loan us 3 of her beloved horses. They were extremely well trained responsive horses. She allowed us to walk them from their stalls, put on their tack, brush them and afterwards give them a shower and in the process we learned so much about riding. This outing was exactly what my 8 year daughter was looking for. She loves horses and was able to interact with them in an more intimate way than she has done previously. If you have children that like horses, there is no better place to take them for a wonderful, learning, and intimate experience.Thank you Paula for the opportunity.

Took my family here while they were on vacation and they had a great time! Paula the owner was so patient with them. They had a blast! Would defiantly recommend using this place!

I never realized how much fun you could have horseback riding and learning at the same time. Paula teaches you how to groom, tack up and ride her wonderful horses. I had a blast. I will definitely be back.

So glad I found this little gem! If you are looking for something fun to do in the Weeki Wachee area, this is the place to go! They offer trail riding through acres and acres of wooded trails just for horses! Paula, the owner was very friendly and will tell you everything you need to know to ride safely.
