Yes, it is a funky name. It will probably take a while for the name to actually catch on (or it will simply be referred to as the Sebastian brewery.)The tasting room is a small, intimate little place to drop by and have a beer (or a few). They only had three of their own beers when I went and hopefully they will start featuring more of their own creations. They have many "guest" taps to round out the taps.
We were so happy to find a local brewery nearby where we stay every winter. We checked it out and found the owner friendly, inviting, informative and fun. There are no TVs here, so it makes a perfect setting for customers to chat with each other. Soft music helps with the ambiance.Great beers, with tasting available. Next time we'll get the flights to have bigger tastes of several choices.
First and foremost, let me say, it is a must visit. An absolute gem in the area. That being said, having visited multiple craft breweries in various areas, I would give it a four. The fact that they have a food menu, is a huge plus. Although the menu is limited, that works in their favor, as everything I saw come out of that kitchen was quality. I had the spinach dip, myself, and it ranks up there in my dip list. The beer....they serve about a handful of their own brews and ten or so guest brews. There is a variety, which is great. The guest brews were varied and well thought out. Something for everyone. Their brews were not lacking, per se, not solid, but make me want to come back and see what's next. Out of their five, I really liked two, and that's pretty good odds, I'd say. All in all, a definite must see, the nicest people and service, great food, live band, cool ambiance, and an almost five. Representing Sebastian well as the first craft brewery in town.
Been down here for years on vacation and had never seen this brew pub. Actually found it like I find most things on a Google search. Was amazed that it was about 300 feet from the Sportman's Lodge that we are staying in. Pete works at the bar and Jim is brewing in the rear. Small world, Jim is from the same area that we live in. We had a good deal in common. These are very congenial people and come meet everyone that comes in. They haven't been open that long and already are outgrowing their brewing capacity. They have a light pub menu and several craft beers on tap along with their own brews. Their beers are carefully crafted and very well balanced. The food is prepared by Pete's wife Lynn and is very good. Great atmosphere and has dog friendly seating which seems to be rare in this part of Florida. Right next to the Sebastian Town park with a great view of the waterfront.
