Great public beach that has a little bit of everything to offer, so bring your camera. The beach sand is not powdery white flour-like Siesta Key but that's not what we came for. We came to see dolphins swimming and we did. There they were just off the jetty. I think there was a pod of 3 or 4 the day we were there. They swim in and around the channel that leads to the intercoastal waterway. There were also pelicans and other seabirds that make interesting photos, so bring your camera (with telephoto is best) and get some good pictures. Then there are the fishermen and women to watch and see what they catch. The channel is busy with commercial and pleasure boats heading in and out of the ICW.The part of the beach near the jetty has mounds of shells for the shell collector. The beach sand is coarse but not hot and the sand in the water is smooth and firm. There is a small drop as you enter the water but it was easy to navigate. Water temp the day we visited 67F. I did swim but it took about 10 minutes until I was numb and then I swam like a fish. The beach didn't see as crowded as Siesta Key which was great. The walk from your car to the beach is not far either. Would definitely visit it again.
Nice place to sit and watch the boats go in and out of the jettys. Has a good beach. You can fish from the jettys. benches and pick nick tables . Cocession stand with sandwiches snacks pop and beer. Clean restrooms. No cost to enter this nice smAll park.
Even though our main objective when visiting Casey Key is Nokomis Beach we always make a point of stopping at the North Jetty to walk the channel and sit for awhile to watch the boats coming and going and take in the views of Venice. With the newly added concession and restroom facilities one could easily make this their primary spot for spending a beach day on Casey Key. There is considerable free parking, a covered shelter, picnic tables, a children's play area, and some benches along the jetty.
Great place to picnic seaside and/or walk to look for shells, the water is pretty torrid and not a swimming place or good place to make sand castles but very nice walking beach, and good place to cast off your kayak. They have a concession stand and small fish camp restaurant but seemed mostly the locals hang around we got a lot of unfriendly looks when we pulled up. I definitely will bring the kids out sometime to hunt shells and picnic at the play ground area though.
We were here on a weekend so the beach was crowded but fun. Plenty of shelling room available. The cafe has some tasty choices (we got a tuna sandwich and tuna on lettuce as a salad) and beer choices as well. There was a four-piece group (Sawyer) playing under the trees by the picnic tables and people were enjoying the music. A good place for some outdoor food and music on the weekend.
You have to see it to believe it. It's free and has tons of parking. The sand is white and soft. The restrooms are clean and there are plenty of tables for picnics.
This has to be one of the best beaches in the World. The views of the sea and the Jetties of venice are just wonderful. There is something for all beach lovers here, Swimming, fishing, paddling, walk the beach or just laze and read, its just great to spend a day here. Everytime we go to the beach we see dolphins, and on our last visit we enjoyed the spectacle of a family of Manatees slowly swimming past about 3 feet from the edge of the beach. truly wonderful.
Easy access to beach and free parking. Locals are entertaining. New restrooms are welcomed and is new concessions/grill.
New restrooms...multiple picnic tables and newly opened snack bar. It offers a diverse menu to suit a wide range of selections. Jetty is a great place to fish. Fish hitting on shrimp. Nearby beach is very nice.
A great place to go to fish or just relax and have beer and watch boats. Two snack bars. Lots of Dolphins to see right in front of you. Has a great beach too. The birds are plentiful. Great picture taking too.
Arrive about one hour before showtime, bring your chair and get the best seat in the house; close to the gulf. Watch the best sunset you have ever seen. Everyday they are different. You will see that many people come to enjoy the show, sitting and watching in awe.Come and enjoy!
It was the total experience I enjoyed about this place. The beach itself was unimpressive. I prefer the white sand of siesta, the sand here was pointy to walk on. On the plus side, I found beautiful sea shells here. It is unbelievable how many shells are here. We were treated to dolphins playing out in the water. The park was nice here, and the food and beer very reasonably priced at the fish camp. Good pier for fishing
The jetty is a lovely place just to take a walk, talk and hangout with friends, and just enjoy the view. The fishing here is also really good!
Recently renovated and is a great place to go to the beach, grab a bite, fish or relax on the beach!
The locals seem to be at this beach and not too many tourists. It is pleasantly uncrowded even during the high season and shell collecting is ideal. Everyone seems to be mellow and relaxed. Parking is convenient and close to the beach itself. This is a poster-like scene of a florida beach. Take advantage of it if you are in the area.
