I had a special interest in learning to kiteboard last march. As a professional athlete, I have much experience with extreme sports. When I signed up with Shaun and began learning, Shaun showed me the basics and was very detailed with his instructions. Upon the third and final day of training, I almost died due to the negligence of Shaun. Something happened to the safety release on the kite where the pull handle had broken off the kite. When Shaun tried to replace the pull handle with a piece of seaweed or random stick he found on the beach I started to worry. After he put the bandaid on the problem, he sent me out again into 25+ mph winds in a rough ocean with many rip currents. On my way out, I got about 50 yards from the shore and when I went to stand up the bandaid all of a sudden came undone and the kite crashed in the water. With little experience but remembering what Shaun instructed me to do I tried to follow one of the lines and swim to the left side of the kite. While struggling to swim while being whipped accross the rough water, I was tangled in the lines around my calf and neck. At that point I realized I could possibly be suffocated and my life was at risk. I released the kite from being connected , untangled the lines, and swam back toward shore. Shaun ended up chasing his kite over a mile down the beach and had to get another kite boarder to tow him out to his kite which was now over 200 yeards into the ocean. I will never again attempt kiteboarding, and I do not reccommend you try it either. If Shaun didn't ignore the problem and try to bandaid it, I may have a different opinion. If you do want to go kiteboarding, make sure everything is safe and there are no questions or doubts about your instructor.

My first lesson with Kite boarding was so much fun. My instructor Shawn was very knowledgeable and very patient. I'm looking forward to doing my next lesson with him.

This is not a sport to learn without instruction. I highly recommend Shaun at Cloud Nine to get you kite boarding. I knew nothing, only that I wanted to do this for a really long time. He started from ground zero with me. He is patient and a great teacher. He will help you and get you up and going quickly in the right direction. I thank him for helping me check off my bucket list and getting me into a sport I wanted to do for so long!

Humor, coaching / tip timing, tone, equipment, knowledge, and location all came together for a very positive experience.

If you are serious about learning to kiteboard there is only one place to go. Cloudnine instruction is the best around.I spent alot of money with other instructors in the area with little success. I was referred to Shawn. I was so intent on learning this sport and I kept trying. At 63 it was not easy but I did it and that would not have happened without Shawns instruction.I watched kiters at kite beach for years thinking how much fun that would be. And now I am one of those kiters and it is even more fun than I thought.Give them a call.

I am now a kiteboarder. And there is one man who made it happen. Not only did he make it happen for me he was accommodating for my friend who came into town too at the last minute. He gives the right amount of attention and you don't feel like your time is being wasted at all. If you want to learn, or improve your skills, or even just get a taste of Kiting I recommend you give Shaun of Cloud Nine a call.Oh and it's my second year with him and I will be seeing him next year too when I am in town.
