jack island preserve state park

This is my little hiding place near my home. I love to come here to watch the birds and other wild life and not hear anything but the sounds of the birds and creatures. Set off from rte A1AiN it offers a oasis from the everyday world. I usually take some Water and sometimes a book and just settle in to peacefully relax. A lovely spot that I hope not too many people find easily.

Hiking & biking trails on a small island in the Indian River Lagoon off Highway A1A. The perimeter trail is about 4 miles long but you can also just cut straight across to the observation tower on a 1 mile long trail. Currently free, but a sign at the parking area says there will be a fee effective March 2015. No bathrooms or facilities.
