smallwood store boat tour

Four of us took the 90 minute 10,000 Island tour. Comfortable 24' 6 passenger Skiff with a great captain/tour guide. I wish I got hs name! Lots of Glades history along with some fun facts.We saw many types of birds, inlcuding Spoonbills, Eagles, and Heron. We also had 3 dolphin play with the boat wake as we made out way thru the islands. This will be a must tour when we have visitors from up North visit us again.

We followed the reviews from yelp regarding the small museum and we're delighted to find the museum and boat trip the highlight of our week. The museum was fascinating as they had so many things from the olden days from the general store and a great story about the outer life and the Indians that were part of the original area.For the cruise, the captain made a special effort to ensure that we saw wildlife, dolphins and spent time to talk about his Island home. It was truly a beautiful and exciting day with the private boat tour is really very special.

It was an amazing, very personal boat tour, where we were shown great places. We saw pelicans, dolphins and even manatis. The 55 dollars p.P. for 1 and 1/2 hour are worth the price. Moreover, not overrun by tourists!

Went to this shop to ask for a boat tour. It turned out there was no boat driver available so the owner of the shop took us with his own boat. We did a two hour cruise but it ended up to be allmost three hours and it was really great! We saw so many wild life... It turned out that there were manatees in the area. We couldn't see them close but we saw some snouts sticking out of the water. Also there were two dolphins swimming and jumping in the wakes of our boat, that was amazing! They were so close! Then we saw a lot of pink spoonbills sitting in the trees. I told the captain that I wanted to make pictures of birds and he took us to several osprey nests in the area. It was a very beautiful and amazing tour!

We did the sunset 2 hr. tour and enjoyed it very much. We were fortunate in that my wife and I were the only guests for this tour. The boat was about 18' with a 115 hp outboard. Plenty of speed when needed and a shallow draft to get into some small channels. The sunset was breath-taking even though the conditions were not optimal (it was a little breezy, 10-15 mph W winds). We saw lots of birds, primarily white pelicans and blue herons.

If you want a great tour with a native guide, this is the boat tour to take. Informative, entertaining and all around good fun. I've never been disappointed on a boat ride with the McMillin Captains!
