This is an amazing place to visit. The grounds are beautiful. it is also a very cool building. But inside are many tractors and construction vehicles that you get to climb up into the drivers seat. It is like a car dealership showroom but for John Deere tractors and construction vehicles. How many times does the average person get to sit in a big combine or a huge dump truck. Definitely a place to visit. We have visited many times since our son was about 4 years old, he is now 23 years old and he is still amazed by the vehicles. The employees that are there are also so very friendly and nice. This is a must see if you go visit the Pavilion. It is about a 15 min ride from the Pavilion. Definitely worth the trip.
More equipment variety displayed in the huge display floor and had the place to ourselves, but little ones were disappointed that there were no virtual reality demos. Staff were extremely friendly and available to answer questions. Equipment here but not at JD Pavilion included excavator, grader, utility vehicle, and several tractors. Also large amount of JD historical memorabilia.
I am not sure you will get a chance to visit the John Deere Headquarter. But the building was very old but maintained very well. You will not find that it is a old construction. You will get to know how it has started in 1837.
Where else can you sit in the drivers seat of a half million dollar combine? Great interactional exhibits and much to learn about the pressing need to fill the bellies of all the people who will be living on planet earth in the near future. Go and learn about a company in tune with trying to solve these very real problems.
First, it was 1999 that I was here. The Realtors Land Institute had a supper In one of the main halls. Coming from Virginia I had not seen much of the large equipment. It was a magical setting where so felt transposed to my childhood. The equipment here helped feed a nation and a world. I feel it is a special place that all should see.
If you like to see a mix of old and new implements this is the place. The John Deere story is worth the time. John Deere was the Mayor of Moline back in the day I'm told. Tractors and Heavy equipment abound.
If you are in Moline I would Definitely head here. It is very neat and has some great machines that you can see.
Man, woman and child will enjoy looking at all of the equipment and artifacts on the display floor. Warning...take popcorn or bread if you want to get your kids to leave. A promise to feed the swans, ducks and geese when they are done driving combines, tractors and road graders will get them out of the door.
The John Deere World Headquarters is one of the Quad Cities most known locations. This location is placed in the middle of the woods with a private pond and beautiful walkways. The facility houses many unique pieces of machinery that represent everything that John Deere is and has grown to be. You can view all the machines on the display floor by going in the rotating doors located near the facilities parking lot. When on the disply floor you can climb up into the machinery and experience what they are like hands on. You wont be disappointed with your visit. My husband and our two children love visiting John Deere World Headquarters.
By giving this attraction an average rating, I don't want to down-grade it. This is a display area for their farm and forestry equipment. It was interesting in it's own right, but kids would probably have found it "really" interesting. It seems like we should have gone to the Pavilion rather than to the Headquarters.
If you are thinking this is a boring corporate office you will be wrong, way wrong. Absolutely one of the most stunning setting and buildings in the midwest. Great display of products. Until you stand next these machines you have no idea how large they are. Great news - this is free. One of the most visited places in Illinois outside of Chicago. Kids love it.
Neat Experience. The on site guide was retired from John Deere and a wealth of interesting information.
loved the different types of Deere equipment. Farm boy here and saw machinery I never knew existed. the gift shop is HUGE albeit kind of expensive.
Moline is John Deere. The display was interesting and informative. The pavilion was located in the downtown area of Moline.
Perfect for families and especially enticing to younger children with puzzles, tractors, and games to play. The tractors are great to see AND climb up on ; their history and America's agricultural productivity deserve celebrating by stopping long enough to view informative videos. I suggest a trip to the retail store to pick up some well done children's books and other items to give some more of your attention to the story of the Deere family.
