This casino is always clean, people are always friendly. Can strike a conversation with nearly anyone else that goes to have a good night at the casino.
Not sure why these people had bad time there but wife and I have been there the last 2 Saturday nights and played all night on winnings. Went in with $80.00 of comp money played for 8 hours and went home with $500 profit. Sports bar also had the best fish dinner I have had in years. We will be back for sure.
it would be more enjoyable if the machines weren't so tight it's no fun to play of all you do is lose and I won't be going back because this makes the 4th time
It was a great eveniong. It was not too crowded, there was room to walk around and everyone was in a very good mood. Will go again next year!
The best casino and employees in the Midwest has slid down fast. In the last 5 years management has cut back to the point is has become dirty, torn carpet w/duct tape on it. Broken tiles, bad parking garage layout, etc. Drawing very undesirable crowd on heavy metal band nights.
When you think of casinos, Joliet, Illinois is not the city you normally think of. However, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Hollywood Casino, in Joliet. The casino is very nice, they have a wide array of machines as well as table games, and the staff was incredibly friendly. We had dinner at the buffet - prime rib Saturday night - and it was delicious! The prime rib was tender and cooked to medium rare perfection (they did have the ability to sear it more for those who like their meat done a bit more). My husband ate his money's worth in shrimp. And, their dessert selection was mind-boggling. I had the salted caramel brownie - MMMM! The casino isn't super-packed, which means it's still possible to get a seat at the one $5 a hand blackjack table, with only a slight wait. They opened a poker table shortly after 7 pm, and I was able to get a seat right away. The table stayed moderately full, with between 0 and 3 open seats until I left at around 11.Now, some of the guys at the poker table talked about a few other local casinos that are busier, but you know what? I don't think busier is necessarily better. If I can get on a table, and there a reasonable number of players in the game, I'd much rather go there than a busy casino, where I might have to wait an hour or more for a seat.Needless to say, I'll go back to Hollywood!
Unfriendly staff and slots are so tight! Will not go back! I should have known when no one was there!
We stopped at he Casino on our way to Virginia, we where in our motor home and we decided to stop for a few hours to gamble and have a drink. First the Sport bar has a terrible service, we sat there for 15 minutes and nobody came to ask if we need anything, so we left and my husband went playing Texas Holden and for his surprise they charge for drinks while playing ( never saw this in other casinos)! then we decided to sleep in the motor home among the trucks and for our surprise at 11pm a security guard knocked on our door saying we could not spend the night there, even though there were 15 trucks sleeping there. The guy said we had to park in their RV park for $49 a night even though we required no service.....Not friendly at all, will never go back.
I guess I need to get out more... We stayed at the hotel, came to the casino for an excellent dinner, than into the casino for a bit of gambling.. We have been to Vegas before but don't gamble much at all, I always wondered how people spend so much time at the casinos... Answer.. penny and 2 cent slots.. An entire floor of penny 2 cent slot machines. You can play forever on a dollar!!! Now I know you won't win much either, but if you just wanna play, that's so cool. My hubby thought it was silly, so we went downstairs to the 25 cent and dollar slots. We played only for awhile and broke even. Just a fun night out for us. I kinda missed the Vegas way with tokens and hearing all the coins dropping when you win and pulling the handle. Even if you are not a gambler like us, this is a nice new casino where you can just have fun. Combined with the hotel and restaurants it makes a great escape...
When the other review said the slots were tight I should have listened. Went three times and played slots and tables. Brought 800 with each time. Not once was I ever above 800 either time. I've never felt like I had absolutely no chance to win like I did at this casino. Owners should be ashamed of themselves. Yet another American corporation ruled by greed.
Hollywood's Stadium bar recently added Howl at the Moon on Saturday evenings. We visited two consecutive weekends. While the entertainment was excellent, on par with other Howl at the Moon events, the casino failed miserably at accommodating it's guests. You would think on the third and fourth weeks of hosting this popular night out, the managers would have made changes to its staffing and seating to take care of the crowd, which in our experience increased by at least 25% over the week before. The managers should have taken over hosting/seating responsibilities, allowing it's hosting staff to wait tables. We waited an hour for a table in the bar area and We were never approached to purchase drinks (a big loss for the casino considering the number of people waiting for tables), they were hustling around pulling tables and chairs from other restaurant areas, and people waiting for very long periods to be waited on once seated. Our group of 9 was given two two-tops...then we had to Find and pull additional chairs ourselves, went to the bar to get our own drinks, had to get silverware from tables that were not using silverware. It was a mess. On the plus side, along with great entertainment (tho the acoustics were pretty poor), their food was very good and served fairly quickly. Overall, they need to secure additional wait staff, rearrange and get additional seating, and use their website to advertise availability of reservations, then manage reservations much more efficiently.
they offer free pop, and the lights sounds are exciting, I turned $10 into $20. free parking at the covered garage.
Several family members and I ate at the casino's buffet dinner. The food was top-notch in all respects and reasonable in price when the all-you-can-eat aspect is considered. Ambiance is as one would expect in such a place: noisy and at times crowded.
It was Christmas eve so only 1 bar was open and the deli was the only food available. It was a limited but ejoyable experience and we are looking forward to our next visit.
We travel often to this area, have not stayed at the Hollywood hotel for a few years. We were there last weekend and our experience was excellent. The hotel staff was wonderful. The rooms were clean and attractive and the beds were very comfortable. We will be back. The buffet at the casino was pretty expensive, but the food was wonderful. Great variety, hot, well prepared and delicious.
