We hiked down the Bright Angel Trail till Mile and a Half rest-house. The trail is breathtaking and very beautiful. There are many stops along the way to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. You need to decide till where you can go.1) Few stops along the way are - Upper Tunnel(15 mins one way), Lower tunnel(30 mins one way), Mile and a half (1-1:30 hours one way), Three Mile (3 hours one way). 2) Always remember that the hike down maybe kind of easy as it is only downhill but on the way back the hike can get strenuous as its only uphill.3) Mile and a half rest-house has drinking water and restroom facilities.4) There are few mule rides also in the bright angel trail of the South Rim.

We walked about a mile on the Bright Angel trail late last summer. There is so much to see and that made it difficult to concentrate on our walk! The trail is well maintained and there are plenty of places to just stop, rest and take in the view. Our upcoming trip includes hiking to Plateau Point, a place we discovered both in photos and by speaking with other hikers. You can see the Colorado River from the Point. The Grand Canyon is the most spectacular place in the world, and not to be missed! I can't imagine going there and not wanting to go back. Just do it! You'll be SO glad you did!

I made the trip down the bright Angel Trail. I went 1.58 miles down. It was a wonderful trip down and back up. It decided to rain a little Inslee little which was kind of funny within a self. I would just recommend to make sure you know how much activity you can do because the trip back up is much harder than the Down. It was great though so have fun be careful.

Climbing up the bright angles trail from Phantom ranch had me in Awe. Being at the bottom of the canyon and looking up makes you realize how beautiful nature can be.the climb itself is hard but if you pace yourself and make your water stops at Indian gardens and the 3 mile and one and a half mile water stops you will be okay

If you do some of it or all of it, it is well worth your time. You get a greater appreciation of how really beautiful this canyon is. You can really get a better feel for all the textures and colors that make up the canyon as you take this trail. It is not easy going back up, but taking breaks let's you look around so you don't miss a thing. We saw a female big horn sheep and her baby jumping around, very close to the trail. There were also deer. Don't miss out!

It's a very long trail. It takes 4 hours to go all the way down on this trail and 4 hours more to come back but it's worth! You will love it!

The views on Bright Angel are spectacular, and the experience of going below the rim is truly worth every step. The rim is breathtaking, but Bright Angel adds another dimension to the Canyon. It is also the easiest of the South Rim trails, and large parts of it are wheelchair accessible. So, even if you never hike you should at least go a little way down Bright Angel. Also, if you do love hiking, don't be put off by the highway like nature of Bright Angel near the rim. The views farther into the canyon, and the relatively few people who make it past the first stop mean that Bright Angel is a one of a kind trail, perfect for beginner and expert alike.

try for a room at Bright Angel Lodge Cabins and step out of your room onto the trail, amazing access that is seamless to the Grand Canyon

Great trail!!! Four stops with bathrooms. We had lunch at indians gardens, the half way to bright angel campground.

Most people will only see the rim views, but if you are semi fit make the time and go for a walk. We walked from the bottom to the top on this route and it was incredible. Breathe taking views along and very different from the other path. We even got to see a stag near India garden. The route was surprisingly gentle and had been designed well although our GPS tracked this as a 11.5 mile walk. But it still only took us 4hours 50 to get up.

I took this route down to the Colorado river as I was due to join a river trip at the phantom ranch around 9.00am. Leaving maswik lodge around 4.30 it was downhill all the way. The only advise I can give us to take your time as a couple of people on our trip couldn't walk for two days after the hike down as it is literally downhill all the way which puts a lot of impact on your leg muscles, saying that the views are unprecedented and it feels like just you and the odd longhorn for most of the journey. I will be returning to the trail again next summer to complete the popular in and out trek from the north to south rim can't wait !!!!

probably going in winter makes a big difference (no heat), and of course it is a long day (8 hrs from bottom), but I still had much worse expectations. water source halfway up during this season, didn't have to hike in dark at beginning or end

If in shape and staying over night go the 9.4 miles to the bottom. If not staying the night just go down a little bit and get some pictures. Make sure you leave enough time to get to the top before dark. It is a challenge getting back to the top, be safe.
