As visitors from the UK and regular visitors to London, we could not wait to see what had happened to our old London Bridge. It's a spectacular sight, sitting across the river and surrounded by all sorts of attractions. We walked around, looking at the candle factory and then were amazed to hear the chimes of Big Ben. What a risk was taken to bring London Bridge to Lake Havasu! How many must have scoffed at this ridiculous idea! but the risk has paid off and the bridge is the central attraction. ell worth the visit.
what a great afternoon to get out on the water. We had to wait a little bit, but what a fun afternoon. Sign up early if you plan to take the copper canyon
Wow! What a trip. The London Bridge we have all sung about. Now in living color. You can touch it and see a remarkable real useable BRIDGE! This bridge was numbered and disassembled in England an then shipped to Havasu where it was re-assembled, It was damaged by an automabile recently and is yet to be repaired.
My family and I spent a day on the lake fishing, cruising & relaxing in the middle of February. The temperature was great, but a little chilly when we were driving at faster speeds. We fished the shores of California near the Chemehuevi National Park and saw a couple of coyotes walking the beaches looking for fish. It was quite a sight and they didn't seem to be spooked at all. Although it's a pretty busy lake, there are many nooks and crannies around the lake to find your own private areas to fish and sunbathe. There are beautiful views of the city and the mountains from all sections of the lake, but going near the south side of the lake towards Sara Park is ideal. You're able to boat over to the balance rock in Sara Park and see it from the water, which is quite a sight. Cupcake mountain is visible from almost anywhere on the lake as well. We drove through the bay and under the London Bridge as well. A no wake zone but a must do if you're spending a day on the lake.
It was a great way to spend the afternoon - we rented a pontoon boat and toured around the lake. Stopped at one of the many picnic areas and had BBQ lunch.
Went to Lake Havasu for Rockabilly Reunion and what an absolutely beautiful City. We could see the Lake from our camper. The weather was perfect. I really could live in this city.
I moved to Lake Havasu City a few years ago from the midwest. My husband and I had traveled here previously, fell in love with the town, bought a piece of property and built our retirement home. The beautiful year round weather and the lake are two main reasons why we chose Lake Havasu City. It is a small town atmosphere and people are very friendly. Down by the lake is lovely Rotary Park where everyone in the family will find something fun to do. You can walk along the lake all the way from the south side of the park to the channel which leads up past the London Bridge. Our small medical facility provides excellent care. We have had occasion to use the emergency room as well as having major surgery; our physicians are outstanding and the nursing care is excellent.
Our first trip to Lake Havasu and we definitely will be back. The weather and the location was wonderful.
I'm gonna retire here. This place is awesome. It's hot, not doubt about that but otherwise awesome. I went shortly before Christmas and it was 80 degrees. The locals were living it up. It is also within 2 hours of Las Vegas!!! Now that's what I'm talking about.
Arizona and California share a super lake. All types of boating available. Take a $2.00 return trip boat shuttle from the London Bridge (AZ) to the native casino (CA) to get a feel of the size of the lake.
My boyfriend has a boat, and we make sure to either come the weekend before or like the Wed/Thursday before a long holiday weekend and make sure to get a boat slip, otherwise you'll be waiting A VERY VERY VERY long time to launch your boat or take your boat out of the water. We rather pay the extra money to have a boat slip than to wait every day. Last year we went for Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. The channel if you want to dock your boat in the channel on a holiday weekend, make sure you get up REALLY early cause the channel fills up FAST! My boyfriend has gotten up probably no later than 6 to get a spot in the channel, but then when you sit there all day in the channel and smell all the carbon monoxide from the boats you get a little light headed breathing in all the fumes. The channel is a fun place to people watch that's for sure and to look at all the nice boats. Must be an experienced boat driver cause it gets PACKED with boats going up and down the channel and boats leaving out of their spot. Cops definitely up and down the channel and on land watching for anything. Also, Copper Canyon is a fun spot to hang out but don't get stuck in the back you might not be able to get out. I hurt myself EXTREMELY bad jumping off of Copper Canyon, so be careful when jumping or be an experienced rock jumper. Overall, lot of fun. Don't drink and drive a boat, there are cops everywhere!
Went there with 4 friends almost towards the end of the day. So got a cheaper deal for the boat . Spent just around an hour into the waters. Had a wonderful time Driving the boat. and swimming in the waters.. Definitely a good spot for a relaxing weekend. There was a Dollar Store available somewhere close by. Had Dinner at Black Bear Diner.. The London bridge at sunset is an awesome view to have.. we watched it while returning..
we went in a boat up to topock and pirates cover, the beachs were lovely, private and the river throught the red rock was outstanding in the changing light. there was a few people out there but still lots of peace and quiet
Large lake with interesting features like coves and rocks and animals that we missed on our tour but there is supposedly mountain sheep and coyotes. Not a lot of people out when we were there, but fun to walk along the lake edge and go by the light houses that are accessible by foot.
We enjoyed being on the Lake and the history surrounding. Had a chance to kayak through the channel into Thompson Bay. It is so interesting to have the Colorado River flowing into and out of the Lake.
