We love wine. It's true. It is rare to pass up a tasting room in a new town (or a new tasting room in a well known town).During a recent visit to the Willcox area we noted the Flying Leap and dropped in.I admit we might be a tad snobbish about our northwest wines so we were surprised to find solid enjoyable wines being produced in Southeast Arizona. The pinot gris was crisp and clean without be insipid. The white blend solid. The reds were more spotty but Monsoon Red was a winner. The tasting room is interesing and comfortable.Go and enjoy

If the group tour host had to pay for our group of 26 to taste this wine....per person...then he paid too much... the gals that were working were wonderful and friendly..but the wine was expensive and the room HOT and taste size miniture!! I would not go here again.

Then take a break and stop in and say hi to Marc at Flying Leap Vineyards. You'll want to see the state of art distillery he's constructing to do devilish things to grape pumice. And be sure to sample some of his award winning Arizona wines! In fact, take a case home to share with your friends.Cochise County is home to some of Arizona's finest wine country. Take a trip and discover some amazing wines!

We stopped in about a half hour before the tasting room closed. $10 covered tasting all six wines offered by the company, but what was impressive was that is also included a very nicely monogrammed crystal wine glass with each tasting. The pour weren't huge but since you got six, that was fine with us- we had to be able to drive. The server wasn't the most knowledgable but was very pleasant.

Flying Leap is one of the newest tasting rooms in Willcox, located right next door to Keeling-Schaefer. We heard about this room opening about 6 months ago and have been excited to pop in for a visit. We purchased a 20$ deal online which included tasting for 4 people. When we entered the tasting room it was dead silent- there were about 6 other people, and everyone was standing quietly, not speaking. Really odd. The other tasting rooms in the area have a fun, light hearted vibe and are enjoyable to visit. The woman running the tastings was not interacting or speaking with her customers. We were not acknowledged or greeted when we walked in. I stood at the counter waiting to be even looked at which took a while. When the woman poured our wine, she gave us barely a half pour! The bottles all have measures on them and are used for standard pours- she managed to maneuver the bottle so barely anything came out! Wow! We were using a Groupon, but this does not excuse her service. Do not offer Groupons if you feel that the customer using one is not as worthy as your full price paying customers! When then asked some questions about the wine and she told us, "I just pour the wines." Worst response ever! We were completely shocked that she said this. We noticed that there were chocolate chips and crackers on the counter which were obviously intended for pairing with the wine, but we were given zero information about this.To be honest, this is the worst tasting room I've ever visited in all my trips worldwide. Pretty bad. Save your money and go next door, or visit any of the other tasting rooms in the area that know how to treat their customers and who actually have knowledge about the wines they are pouring.

This is one of the five current wineries located on the new wine trail in Willcox Arizona. The wine tasting experience includes the visual aesthetics of the exterior and interior of the building, the hospitality and knowledge of the tasting pourers, and of course the taste of the wine. This wine tasting room is located right in the small downtown area in an old saloon that by report is where Warren Earp was shot and later lost his life (we like these interesting historical details). The building is attractive. The pourer was very nice and enthusiastic. The wine was very good.
