The park was within the town, but you felt like you were out in the forest. The trail was paved, which was important because I am handicapped.
Spent 2 hours walking and enjoying the trail around the lake. Great views and lots of benches to sit and relax. A nice way to spend an afternoon
Very nice place to walk around the paved pathway around the pond. Years ago it looked much healthier but the population in the area has grown, from so many people moving up into this area.
There are many picnic areas around the lake and the walk is well paved and such a beautiful setting to enjoy nature. There is lots of bird life shade as well as places to sit and just watch life pass by
Very nice walking trail lots of pines and 5 or 6 different types of ducks very relaxing stroll around the lake
A nice, well-kept park, with duck pond that has a paved walkway around the water. That's a very easy mile. Plenty of picnic tables and benches with good spots for family photos.
A nice, paved trail around the lake along with some easy hiking trails through the woods. Great facilities for a picnic or party. Good play area for the kids. The lake is very low at the moment and although you can fish, the fishing is poor.
Tucked into the surrounding area is this lovely natural spot. Walking trails intersect with the walking path around the reservoir which has plenty of benches along the way for taking some time to enjoy the views. It's very popular with the locals. Saw a variety of water and land birds. As you drive through there are picnic tables nestled among the pines with BBQ's available. This area needs to be respected and preserved.
This was a great park with a paved hiking trail around the lake. Unfortunately, the water level of the lake is very low but it's a good place to stretch your legs & breathe some fresh air.
The 1-mile path around Woodland Lake is paved and has benches to sit and watch wildlife. The path also connects with hiking trails (not paved) that explore the 600-acre park. Get a trail map at the Parks & Recreation office (928) 368-6700.
What a nice recreation area. They had a play ground for kids, picnic area and lots of benches to just sit and look at the nice area. We enjoyed the paved path around Walnut Lake. It is a little over a mile loop and had nice views of lake, with lots of wildlife.
So many options for short or long hikes. I did the Hitchpost Loop and Lake Loop. Or maybe marsh right now, since not much snow last winter. Still gorgeous. Did not have any other hikers on the Hitchpost, glorious light gentle rain. Perfect antidote to PHX heat.
We were there 7/22/2014 - hot - and no rain. The lake was low. The dock was closed. And... it's still a wonderful place to visit. It is so 'user friendly'! There are walkways all around the lake. There are benches everywhere... Very clean. A lot of trash cans and bag stations for dog poop. Woods and plenty of places to park in different locations around the park. A lot of walkers, joggers and families enjoying a day at the lake.
This park includes a paved walk around a pond that is heavily used, and several miles of pine forested trails that are seldom used.
Walked around the lake for the first time. There were people fishing and also some kids kayaking. The park was clean and quiet for a holiday weekend. I was told that the water level for the lake was abnormally low for this time of year
