There are a few stops like this along the route. however, I found this to be the largest, most organized. We stopped at sunset, so the photo opportunities are great! It a good place to stretch your legs. The shop gives a free piece of wood to every family. They have lots of different items...from "collectibles" to the cheesy roadside shop things. The jewelry is beeeeautiful!! I spoke to the two women working there and they were explaining a section of the jewelry case was all handmade, but not jus t by their tribe. I liked that they are working together with other artists. I will say, it is pricey. But I mean seriously...the detail and technical precision of the pieces is so evident. I bought a pair of earrings for about $40 USD. And those were some of the least expensive ones there (in the case, not the "made in China" items). I actually went to san diego recently and found a boutique. The woman had just been there herself and brought back the exact earrings I purchased. Trust me when I say, the margins are better getting them first hand, if you're into those things. The bathrooms are very nicely kept. There are teepees and dinos for everyone to play in. If you're out there, its a nice stop.

After trying on some earings I brought over to a mirror, I chose the ones I liked and left the others sitting there just like you do when you try on clothes and leave the ones you don't want in the fitting room. The rude lady who worked there ( I mean stands around there) didn't like what I did and insisted I put them back myself! On principle alone I decided they didn't deserve the business so I got my money back! Do your job ladie! You should be offering to help people have a nice shopping experience, not showing off how lazy you are!

A great stop along Route 66 / Interstate 40. Giant green rampaging dinosaurs outside provide many photo opportunities - "get farther into his jaws, son." Rocks, jewelry, and souvenirs in an extraordinary range of price points from inexpensive to museum-quality. "Sparkling Restrooms!" Friendly folks, too. And free petrified wood for every family.
