I liked everything about this. It is a beautiful building and houses a fascinating collection. The audio guide is very well done. Make sure you finish off by having a coffee in the roof top restaurant, which has a superb view. Definitely the highlight of my visit to Mdina.

Houses preserve memories of the daily life and this one will allow you to explore memories that had been preserved for several centuries till it was restored as a museum. The spaces are full of history either as the protagonist of events or due to their items story. The audio guide will help you discover both using a very interesting and amusing mix of audio notes from: one narrator talking as he were the living spirit of the last owner of the place, and another whit those impersonal (but very needed if you want to understand) statements we are used to hearing in audio guides. I strongly recommend the visit!

This is a hidden gem to which we probably would not have gone if it was not for our Maltese Host that strongly recommended it.We had scheduled the visit so we could have lunch on the roof. Unfortunately they were not serving as there was a private function scheduled. The creator of this eclectic collection had Swedish ancestry, so I felt some common ground being of Swedish origin and a modest collector myself. Mr. Gollcher had collected items from many fields, so the collection is quite varied. Besides the beauty of the individual items, the charm of it is like entering a private home of a wealthy individual where nothing has changed. The Audio guide is quite well done and as complete as can be expected, without being boring. It is most certainly worth a visit.

This lovely old building is lovingly tended by enthusiastic staff. As my husband is disabled and there is no lift (how could there be in such a building) we visited the ground floor together, ramps being put in place to enable this, and were then taken upstairs by lift (not a public one) and through the kitchen to the dining room (exquisite) and in to the other rooms. Everyone was just so kind and helpful and this is one of those not to be missed places to visit

Very interesting. Very well set out. The old mosiacs were wonderfully preserved. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit.

A beautifully renovated house with an eclectic collection. Hi-tech audio tour that let's you discover everything at your own pace. Amazing rooftop cafe that was completely empty on our visit (free to enter if you don't want to pay). Since everything on Malta is very reasonable I didn't mind paying the €10 to see this.

A very beautiful and interesting historic house inside the old capital. The audio tour was fantastic - easy to use, with lots supplementary material to listen to, or skip, as suited.

We actually managed to walk past this several times, despite looking for it! €10 entrance fee which includes a headset. You point the handheld control at a sensor and it tells you all about the room. Then various exhibits also have sensors so there's extra information on them. Very easy to use and if you miss a bit you can just repoint and click to listen again. Some lovely displays and no rush to walk around. Staff were very helpful and eager to answer any questions, or to point things out. Really quite peaceful in there. Didn't have time to visit the cafe though. Well worth a visit.

Great audio guide gives interesting information as you walk round the rooms. Beautifully restored, helpful staff. Closed Monday's. Definitely worth a visit.

I was really worried about booking our wedding in Mdina. It's a busy bustling kind of place, and of course, there are tourists wanting to see every corner of this historic city. So imagine how relaxed I felt when the staff at Palazzo Falson assured me that they'd take care of everything and that no job was too small for them.I honestly cannot recommend these guys enough. From the cafe and amenities to the house itself and all it's history. We were blown away. And what's more fantastic is that my wedding day went without a single hitch. If you want to be in a place where friendliness and care for your enjoyment meets history and an inclusive relationship with all of its patrons then Palazzo Falson is without question the ONLY place to visit in Mdina.

A small cafe on the rooftops - the Gent on reception has to check if they have enough room for you - but sandwiches freshly prepared and served by a delightful young lady very helpful - with lovely salad and crisps - under 11 Euros for the two of us including drinks

When in Malta visiting Mdina, don't miss out on the Palazzo Falson. A wonderful place to visit and also don't forget to get a coffee and some excellent cake on the peaceful terrace upstairs: to be recommended.

This was better than the museums in Valletta. The hand held sets were ingenious. We had to take refuge in the cafe on the top floor due to a huge thunderstorm. The view was exciting due to the thunder/lighting and being to view a huge panorama of Malta itself. Worth going again but hopefully on a sunny day the next time.

A lovely house full of various and interesting collections. The 'magic wand' commentary is excellent! The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Would go again!

We paid our 5 euro each over 60s concession fee and received a comfortable headset attached to a press button hand held switch tube that you pointed it's laser beam to the numbered disc in each room or next to each exhibit. If needed, you could repeat the audio message by pointing a second time. This is the best audio guide system I have ever used! A lot of attractions could learn from this! Unfortunately, photography is not allowed inside the building, only outside. There are some lovely furnished rooms and displays of silver ware, watches, jewellery, pottery, porcelain, painting etc. A lot of the audio guide is in the guise of the owner relating to you first hand at what you see. Although, he would possibly be 120+ if still alive! However, he does refer to a ghost having been seen. After our unhurried tour we then made our way to the roof top cafe for reasonably priced refreshments. However, our sandwich arrived after we finished our drink! Not to worry, it is Malta time after all and we were on holiday. To summarize, definitely worth a visit if in Mdina. It is located at the furthest end from the bus terminus, in a street to the right of the long wall overlooking the rest of Malta.Robin & Janet, Oct 2014
