Excellent Place for Families who love animals or pirates. Nice restaurants and lot of Space in the park - many families use Three days in the park.
This is definitely the best zoo in Norway and one of the best in Europe. It is quite big and it looks like the animals are treated well. Typical 'Norwegian' animals like moose and wolf have big habitats which might make them difficult to see (when they are not fed), but this makes the zoo a better place for them. Kristiansand dyrepark is also a theme park with various attractions. Well worth a visit, though quite expensive.
The park has been around for a long time and it shows in more than one way.On the positive side, it has a good variety of interesting animals, including some of the Scandinavian ones, but are still missing the brown bear and our own Svalbard, polar bear ?Not sure why the management are so focused on the Africa theme, as I'm sure a European / Scandinavian focus would have done them so much better.Lots of things to do for all family members, but it comes with a price as the management is looking in many creative ways for all of your penny's :(Maintenance should be on their top list of focus points as most parts of the park looks aged and worn, and not well looked after as other parks.Have a look at Australia Zoo and you will see what I mean.As one of Norways main attractions, they should look at their past successes to make it well into the future. You will have a good time, but it's going to cost you quite a few kroners......
This park is a must see if you are in Kristansand. Its open all year round, but of course it's best in the summertime. If you go off season, it will not be so crowded. If you have kids, they will love this park. Lots of different animals and Captain Sabertooth (shows only in the summertime) for the children.
The park is filled with details from bottom to top. You have a pirate city for the tough boys and girls, and a water park for the whole family to enjoy. There are many places to eat, but the food is like what you get on a gas station, except the buffè near the giraffes and zebras. The park is overpriced- the ticket, food, souvenirs and everything you money can buy are expensive. The good thing is that once you enter the park all the attractions are free. If you bring some lunch and steer away from all the shops - you can get out of there with great memories and a wallet that is not empty. The animals have great enclosures. They can hide or show themselves, luckily there are a feeding schedule, so you are guaranteed to see the lions, wolves and many others. This is the most exceptional zoo in Europe.
You will spend the whole day here. The animals seemed to have good space and as natural environment as possible in a Zoo. There were a great variety of species and when you need a break lot of tables around the area. The cafés were a bit over priced specially when the entranced fee was not cheap. But absolutely worth the price.
We pay this zoo a visit every summer. Great experience every time. The park is Clean and nice with high quality attractions. The Only thing this park is missing is a highend rollercoaster with an animal theme. This Would make the park complete, and lift it to an evne higher level.
Been around the world and I have to say,I love Dyreparken for the way they take care of the animals. They have alot of space, and do really care for the animals:)Great place for a walk with the camera,(would avoid the high season then..) If you have kids,go see Kaptein Sabeltann show in the summer, big hit. Quite expensive food and beverages,so it would be smart to pack a bag if you are spending the whole day there.
Very nice zoo, always fun to visit! Some of my best childhood memories are from their Kaptain Sabeltann shows!
Mainly for the kids, but also interesting for grown ups. Animals are good taken care of, and you do not pity them. The roundabouts are for everybody and even the teenagers got a thrill. Ok food. Go see the Captain Sabertooth show in the evening if it is playing!
Great place for the whole family to spend some time togheter. Lots to see and do, beautiful nature, fun animals and last, but not least the water rollercoaster, bob etc. The family basket with food in one of the restaurants is Great value for money, other than that I would advice to bring your own food and beverages.
Wow! This is a zoo for EVERY ONE! For children and adults! You have to come and visit this zoo. In the zoo they have of course animals, they have shows like Kaptein Sabeltann and Kardemommeby. The zoo is parted in several parts like Africa, Norden Nature, Asia ect.... Smal children, they absolutely love the zoo and all the things at the zoo!Do you want to go? I recommend this for EVERY ONE! !Enjoy :-)
Nice mix of a zoo, aqua park and amusement park... We went here outside the season so most attractions were closed down for the season. Would like to see the park in summer to get everything. Nice place specially if u have kids.. We enjoyed the nordic zoo the most.. Funny to see animals in the country u live in.. :D
You cannot go to Kristiansand without visiting the park. It is on the expensive side, but wonderful. Just make room for visiting this wonderful park. Memories for life!!
compare to Bergen it is very nice and good for a day trip while we are in Kristiansand next time coming with the children
