It is the absolute must do in Folegandros. We went for both snorkelling and scuba diving. Great views, great water colours, professional and very friendly stuff. They patiently explained us what to do and we felt safe throughout the time. Most importantly,we found some real friends in the island. Thank you very much SEAU Dive center people. Until the next time!
Spiros took my fiancée and me on a snorkeling adventure. He was an awesome guide and very professional. Afterwards, he gave us a your of his gardens and we have shared pictures of our trip with him. Don't hesitate to go with Spiros to check out the blue cave!!!
Though, we did not take any diving tour or lessons, Spyros picked us up in a rib boat from Milos (where we arrived by mistake...don´t ask...) and took us to Folegandros. My wife and I had a great time. He showed us unique places where I could do some snorkeling, and we appreciated some of the most beautiful places there must be on earth. The water, the rocks, the settings, all was perfect. Greek Islands are really wonderful and Spyros made sure we had an unforgettable time and see some unique places. Such a nice guy. We will make sure to do some diving next time :)
Fantastic day, great views, amazing service and the best tomato salad on the island. Highly recommended!
Had a wonderful time with Dimitris on his boat for a great outing at sea around the island. Lots of swims were done and fun was had! Dimitris is very friendly and efficient and full of anecdotes on Greece and the island. Strongly recommended!
Snorkelling was amazing. We visited 2 spots with no hurry! Stuff kindly and patiently took the time to explain basic rules andgave us the time to get familiar with equipment and water. Whole experience lasted 2-3hours. Thanks to Dimitris, we brought back home great memory. We hope to see you next year.Best wishes to Sea-uRachel and Paul
I had my Adv Open Water course with SEA U during my holidays in Folegandros. General impression : Professional and friendly staff, amazing underwater terrain and marine life, very good water visibilityDefinitely going back in the future
The dive itself was quite nice, no fish to speak of but some really impressive underwater terrain, beautiful waters and great visibility. The staff, however, we found to be inefficient, unfriendly and not entirely professional. Going out with a novice diver, who hadn't gone diving in five years, they barely refreshed his knowledge, and were quite short in answering his questions. They only sent one instructor out, meaning that when the novice went through his air we all had to go up.Then, they left us at the port while going out for a second dive, without any way to return to the chora. All in all a good dive experience was marred by the staff's behaviour.
With patience and knowledge the team of the Sea u Diving center enabled me my first diving experience - it was amazing!Thank you very much for everything!
Spyros and Dimitris opened their diving school three years ago, after spending summers on the island for over ten years. They really like what they do, and are very professional at it.I did a couple of fun dives on the same day, and my three friends joined for snorkelling. Dimitris (my dive master) and Babis (assisting) took us on their boat - it felt like a private tour! They are very safety-conscious. They are members of DAN Europe, have emergency oxygen on the boat and gave us a briefing before we started. The service was great - new equipment for everyone (including the snorkelers), drive to the port and drop-off to our hotel. The people were very friendly. As almost always with divers, expect to start and finish later than originally planned. As for the diving - well, it was the clearest water I've ever dived in! The visibility was just amazing. Dimitris explained to me it's because of the rocky beaches and the absence of vegetations pretty much, and therefore of pollen. We dived in Katergo, where there is a vertical wall, and on the Georgitsi cave, part of it under and part of it above water, with stalactites and a very healthy underwater life. They were unforgettable dives. I'd go there again any time.
My kidbrother and I had the absolute pleasure of being teached by Spiros, at Sea-U.We took the Padi Open Water diving course.Everything was being handled very professionally, and it all seemed totally safe. And we were in good company all the time. Can't recommend Sea-U enough.
Diving in Folegandros with Sea-U was great. The dive sites was among the best diving I've been to in greece. Really good visibility, fantastic blue. Lots of fish (for greek conditions) and other sea life, interesting and varied underwater world etc. I was diving with my 11 year Junior OW son. Spyros and Dimitris did a great job in taking care of him, making him feel comfortable and safe but still challenging. And guided us into 4 great dives. They are very cautious and pedagogic, great instructors. Altogether a fantastic dive experience.
So relaxed! We did two dives and my seven year old was enticed into the sea for some snorkelling. I fully recommend the cave dive. Very nice wall and a fantastic view looking back out to sea from within. The dive team were excellent, equipment first rate and the highlight for my son being allowed to 'drive' the boat.
We came back this year to our favorite island of Folegandros (just 45 mins boat ride from Santorini and an amazing contrast) for nine days, and of these we spent four diving with SEA-U. We loved every moment. Even if (like me) you are not a regular diver, this is a wonderful way of getting to know Folegandros better. The underwater scenery is just as beautiful as that above, with spectacular caves, arches and colorful vegetation and fish. What is more, as you ride with Spyros and Dimitri in their new boat to uninhabited islets or inaccessible coves, they will share their passion for diving and their knowledge of the island: the perfect day out. The scuba diving is top quality but we ended up doing mostly free diving. This is basically snorkeling with the help of a wet suit and a few weights. This makes you much more comfortable, meaning you can effortlessly go much deeper (and still come up easily!). Because you make no noise, the fish will swim up to you, and as you look up at the crystal blue surface with no one else around you will feel part of nature. I am 59, neither Jacques Mayol nor indeed an athlete, yet this has become one of my favorite ways to spend time on vacation. Try it with SEA-U!
Our snorkel trip to the cave with Dimitri was a highlight of our time in Folegandros. It turned out to be a private boat ride for my wife and 5 year old daughter. Since we live in Maui, we spend a-lot of time swimming and snorkeling. By talking to Dimitri, we got more than just a snorkel trip, but insight into life in Greece and a-lot of background about Folegandros, outside of the swimming. After the trip, Dimitri gave us a ride to Chora which was much appreciated, since we need to get up there to sight see. Thanks to Dimitri and Spiro for a great value and fun trip.
