Ski region Dachstein West is not very big, although in case of good weather it offers amazing view of Dachstein. The slopes are situated in woods so it is a bit fragmented. Some slopes are not very suitable for snowboarders as they are a bit flat. There is very friendly staff and you can choose from plenty of chalets to enjoy your meal. It is also suitable for kids.

We got cheap midwinter, last minute airfare. Unfortunately the ski conditions around the area were not so good. But that allowed us to have fun doing more than skiing.But the skiing was fun also. Not so groomed as the US and much wetter snow that some of the powder in the Rockies. But they use all kinds of different conveyances to get you to the top of every little, or big, hill and it is fun.And did I mention the food and drink, so much better than many American places. They had and ice/snow outside bar set up in the sun on top and it was hard not to get a couple of beers that would have greatly challenged our ability to get safely down the mountain.Great place.

The view from - to the Gosau Lake, just let me get back there.we went up with the cablecar, if we just had time (and not three teenagers ...) we'd stay longer or going back by walking...

In addition to the drive into the Gosau valley, there are (at least) 2 options for enjoying this immensely beautiful area. The first is to take the cable car up the mountain where you can enjoy a wide plateau with many signposted walking trails. (Although there is no charge for the attraction, there is, of course, a charge for the cable car.) Enjoy the spectacular 360 degree mountain views, the open meadows and alpine flowers, and the view down to Gosausee. There are 2 or 3 cafés, so it's possible to have some food and drink once you are up on the plateau. If you don't like cable cars, or simply prefer walking on the flat, there is a great well-surfaced trail round Gosausee lake, which lies immediately below the mountain ridge, at road level. So again, you can enjoy the spectacular mountains, in this case from below!Also at ground level is large and busy restaurant, where a very wide range of food and drink are available. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, though because of the popularity, there was a bit of a wait to be served.We would strongly recommend this area, and we hope to have the opportunity to visit again in the future.

well run ski area, even if snow was a little sparse at time of visit. our visit coincided with a childrens un day, where gams were being held for the kids. the ski area had manufactured snow to ensure fun for all. free belt lifts are available for use by all.

Pricey cable car access (Krippenstein) but well worth the trip! The views from the 5 Fingers viewing platform down to Hallstatt were awesome.

The ski area of Gosau - Dachstein West is just great! They have excellent slopes, great lifts and, at least when I was there, it was not too crowded. There are options for beginners, intermediates and advanced skiers!

War auch heuer wieder ein paar Tage mit der Familie im Schigebiet Dachstein West. Wie immer genug Schnee und kaum Wartezeiten auf den Pisten. Die Hütten kennt man, und man weiß wann man Pause machen muss, um einen Platz zu finden. Die neue Gondelbahn in Annaberg ist toll und angenehm, genau wie der beheizte Sessellift. Das Schigebiet ist groß, aber noch überschaubar und der Ansturm der Gäste hält sich in Grenzen.Auch im Sommer ist das Gebiet, insbesondere die Zwieselalm und der gesamte Gosaukamm, inklusive seen einen Urlaub wert.Ein wirklich schönes Stück Österreich.

Es zählt sicher nicht zu den grössten Skigebiete die ich kenne, aber dafür zu einem der Schönsten. Neben der tollen Aussicht auf das Dachsteinmassiv, ist es nicht zu überlaufen aber trotzdem tolle und nicht zu steile Pisten. Perfekt zum carven und cruisen.

Dachstein West ist ein "Schneeloch" - 70cm Pulver in 4 Tagen - ein WAHNSINN !!!! da Angangs nur wenige Pisten offen waren ein faires Angebot seitens der Skilifte: 1 Kind gratis, 6-Tagespässe zusätzlich verbilligt!!Schlussendlich perfekt präpariete Pisten ...

Красивейшие места, природа гор, чистейший воздух. Разветвлённая маршрутная сеть с множеством указателей, есть места для отдыха.

Wir sind am 08.08.2014 bei idealem Wetter mit der Seilbahn (nur wenige Minuten) hoch gefahren und dann zur Stuhlalm gelaufen. Das war das Highlight unserer Woche im Lammertal! und ist den Preis auf jeden Fall wert gewesen. Zur Stuhlalm läuft man ca. 2 - 21/4 Stunden - je nach Kondition. Der Weg ist allerdings teilweise etwas schwierig und man sollte schon ausdauernd sein, trittfest und auf jeden Fall gutes Schuhwerk dabei haben. Mit Turnschuhen ist abzuraten, da der Weg bei Nässe durchaus rutschig ist und man leicht ausrutschen kann. Auch muss man die Felsen teilweise erklimmen und es geht auch über losen Schotter mit abfallenden Hängen (allerdings nicht sehr steil). Wir würden die Tour auf jeden Fall wieder machen. Auf der Stuhlalm erwartet einen dann das üblicher Wanderer-Essen.

Großartige alpine Erfahrung für Jedermann.Die Aussichtsrampe ist phantastisch.Die architektonische Lösung der Spirale ist toll.Grandios diese BergweltUnd so bequem mit der Seilbahn zu erreichen

Groß, weitläufig, gut prepariert... sensationelles Essen auf der Hütte des Alpenvereins!!! Besonders effizient arbeitet die Schivermietung in Gosau am Fuß der Liftstation. Genial sind die belüfteten Schiboxen!
