We stopped in one afternoon after driving and sightseeing. We were lucky to get it at a quiet time as an hour later there were lots of kids running/yelling post school day. It was 600 Kronos to get in and the locker rooms were very clean and even had the machine to get the water out of your suit. There was a hair dryer as we'll. We just soaked in the hot tubs. Not bold enough to get in that cold tub.
The pool is right in the center of town - costs approximately $4 to get in. The pool is big and generally only populated with a few other people. The pool area also has two hot tubs - one that's like a normal hot tub and one that's really hot. And even better, there's a cold dip nearby that feels like you're submerging yourself in a glass of ice water! The combination of swimming, then the hot tubs, then the cold dip, then the hot tubs again is incredibly refreshing. If you're staying in Hofn, don't miss this pool.
was not busy on the sunday evening when we were there and it was a mix of adults and a couple of families.
I went to the local swimming pool every day, and this one in Hofn was cool, it had the best slide, and adults were into it as much as the kids. The same standard hot pots, but this one has an ICE pot, perfect for plunging right in to shock the system after soaking in hot water. Like a proper sauna!
The swimming has 1 warm swimming pool, 2 hot pools, 1 cold pool, 1 steam bath and some facilities for kids. Amazingly clean and long opening hour, 6:30am-9pm. Great place to relax in the trip.
500 ISK entry fee for the whole day, very clean, outdoor swimming pool with really hot water. Nice thing to relax in the evening or on a rainy day.
Nice pool, clean dressing rooms. What we liked were the three hot tubs, hot, hotter and hottest (40 C). When you got nice and hot, then there was the ice bath to jump into for a few seconds...then back into the hottest hot tub.
We have visited many swimming pools in Iceland, and this one was by far the best! Clean and very well designed. The showers and locker areas were super user friendly and everything about the facility was great! Clean place and friendly people. They had a slide, a children's pool, two hot pots and a nice bath! Amazing! Please visit if you can
Like all the other pools where I swam in Iceland, this one was terrific. They are all SO much better than any pool in the UK -- outside, warm, with hot tubs for after if you like, clean changing rooms and pools and not too crowded. Great!
Great warm swimming pool with lots of water slides and hot tubs.Lots of space for everyone. Very clean. Great fun also when its raining.
Like so many south coast towns, Hofn has its own pool. It is a nice modern facility with a pool, slides, hot pools, and steam room. Definitely worth a stop after a long day.
Very nice and clean swimming pools with various temperatures. I only missed a place to relax somewhere indoors like deck-chairs, but spending the time in the water was equally rewarding (just a little soaking ;)
Hands down, the nicest public pool I've ever been to. Given that it was really chilly outside, the 29 degree C water felt a little cool but then there were three hot tubs (or 'hot pots' as they call them) to warm up in. the pool is a 25 meter laned pool with a fun looking slide. The facilities are superb and sparkling clean. I also had a great experience with the staff at the reception desk. After I realized I'd take longer than I'd anticipated in the pool, she volunteered to phone the hotel my friends were eating at, talked to the owner there, and let them know on my behalf what time I'd reach them for dinner. Above and beyond!
We stopped here after dinner one night and we had planned to let the kids swim and just watch but it didn't take long before my husband and I changed our minds and were zipping down the slide. I loved the hotter "hot pot", it was just the thing after a long day.
Good and warm swimming pool. The city is a great walking place and after the swimming pool you will find a big supermarket.
