This sculpture has been made more tan thirty years ago.You can take pictures, and walk from there near the sea visiting Brava s beach
The fingers look like those of someone buried in the sand. Even if it is a very original sculpture, I don't like them. But a pic next to them seems to be a must.
This is probably the biggest draw to Punta del Este. The most disappointing part was never being able to get a photo without people around the "hand". I just improvised and took photos of the different groups lining up to take photos with the "hand". The "hand" is not on the side with the best beach (it is on Playa Brava). You will have to walk over to Playa Mansa to enjoy the best beach. This is not a seventh wonder or anything like that. Just an interesting piece of art that attracts tourist and photographers in Punta del Este. The best part is, it does not cost a penny to walk on the beach or to take photos with "Los Dedos Playa Brava". I went on a weekday and still couldn't get a photo without avoiding crowds. I can only imagine how packed it is on weekends. Enjoy your time and photos in Punta del Este. Happy Travels!!!!
Depending on where you are staying in the Punta del Este, this beach is close enough to downtown that you can get to with a short walk. It is also a "must see" attraction because of the giant finger sculpture sticking out of the sand. The beach is nice but can get crowded, especially on weekends when many locals come to the beach.
Fun to see this sculpture. Nice beach Loved riding a bike along the beaches Rented great bikes from DW SERVICE.
interesting spot to visit to take a few pictures. sculpture is located in the town centre on a very nice beach, close proximity of many nice cafes/restaurants and shops
After visiting the Iglesia Candeleria and the Lighthouse, the next place we visited during our tour of Punta del Este is this attraction. It reminded me of a sculpture we had in Hains Point Park in Washington, DC (had been moved somewhere in Maryland) that has some body parts lying in the ground. The sculpture has five fingers placed in the ground. Behind it is the beach and in front of it are the high rise buildings. We did not stay long as it started to rain and became windy. See attached pictures. Good bye Dedos!
Really impressive, the artist had an amazing idea. However, some vandals had sprayed graffiti on the fingers. Completely unacceptable.
A busy beack with clear water, some waves and lots of people. There is an famous sculture called Fingers' Monument and it represents the five continents together, united. You need to take a picture it is like a classic to people who go to Punta del este! :)
If you want to show your friends your visited Punta del Este, you must have a photo with the hand. Created and designed by an artist from Chile, this is the mos famous item in this glamorous city. It means born to life.
It is quite hard to make a picture without other 20 people on it but the place is nice anyway. The place has a parking 2 min walking distance and several shops and restaurants on another side of the road.
Interesting sculpture, traditional place for tourists to take pictures. There is a lot of stores and restaurants nearby and also the beach.
You can't visit Punta del Este without stopping by and taking a photo at the Brava next to the fingers. The view is great and it is
It can sometimes be crowded, but is a nice beach to go, with quite people and good place to take pictures.
Everyone goes to get their picture or selfie and the monument on the beach side has been defaced by graffiti.
