Although there are several :Easy" walks, within the Bright area, the Valley Vies walk is moderate to medium in comparison. The starting point is on Hargreaves Street, but visit the information centre for much more details.Click on the site below for a downloadable PDF, of the walks within the Bright area that we found very interesting and comprehensive.http://www.alpinevalleygetaways.com.au/f.ashx/Bright-Wandi-Short-Walks.pdf
The whole area around Bright and Mt Buffalo has some of the most fantastic walks of the Victorian High Country.
What an amazingly beautiful and peaceful walk. We loved the array of flora and took some amazing pictures.
The Ovens River around here is all rapids, forest and beautiful vegetation + there is the history of gold mining in this area - and signs for observant along the trail.
great to walk along in the cool of the evening. Saw a platypus in the steam. Not many places to see these in the wild with easy access.
We walked into town from our accommodation , taking our time to enjoy the ovens river and its wildlife, which took 30 mins each way . Take trip on the left bank for better views and come back on the other side.
We had a lovely walk and could see lots of people with families and people riding their bikes. The only thing is there was enough uncover as it started to rain, so got all wet.
Lovely mountain scenery along the way. It is very forward thinking of local authorities to have provided this facility.
The trail seemed to be poorly marked and the views were not that much different from other trails in the area. We gave it a go but turned around after we bother felt uncomfortable with the lack of signs/markers.
The recent rain has left a few large puddles but it was still very relaxing and peaceful strolling with the kids and dog
Watch out for the mountain bikers. Was there a race on here? They fly along as if it is thier track and we shouldnt be there.
The name Valley View Walking Trail suggests great views of the valley. I have to say we were rather disappointed, compared to some of the other walks we have done in the area. It is a well maintained track through the bush, but the trees obscure most of the view of the valley. I think there are more exciting walks with better views on offer in the area.
A must do in Bright. This is so beautiful at any time if the year and great for cycling. Its mostly flat and offers a very easy ride. We took it to Boynton Winery and highly recommend. There were many family groups out cycling and walking with even the smallest of kiddies racing along the track. Just wonderful!
Brilliant riding path quality, great for all riders, sports professionals, enthusiasts, family with kids.
My wife has not ridden a bike for 30+ years so she was very apprehensive about the bike trail. I had reassured her that being a 'rail trail' it should be largely flat with very shallow gradients. Well it clearly isn't a former railway track at least in the part we rode - simply a bike/footpath. It's still very pleasant and for most it will be very easy and safe cycling away from cars, I was just slightly irritated about the misleading name!
