Perfect weather, great place to take the boat, Jet ski's. Great eating at the resorts. Great place to take a walk and explore.
Skiing swimming or sunbathing this lake is amazing. Dead trees in the centre make it eerily sombre and unique and the views are amazing. The man made pools keep little ones in while making swimming safer for everyone.
Lake Mulwala was formed by damming the Murray and flooding the adjacent countryside. Flooded trees have subsequently died creating a beautiful yet eerie landscape. Lots of walks, water sports and wildlife around the lake. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
So many wonderful things in the area, farm gate trail, Mulwala Ski club and so on, helpful friendly people and the weather seems to be great even if it is cold some where else, it was winter and we walked around in shorts and t-shirts.
Stayed here in one of the waterfront apartments. These are as good as you will find in this type of accommodation. The apartments are well spaced with parking between them and a BBQ at the end of the parking bay, a large porch with table and chairs and three bedrooms in the one we were in. The interior was spotless and apart from the 3 bedrooms there was an open plan living, dining and kitchen area, a concealed washing machine plus ironing board and iron. The toilet is separate from the very good bathroom and the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms each have double bunks. To cap it all off, the apartment was absolute waterfront, with wonderful views of the lake from the entrance and porch. The park is right next door to the Water Ski Club, where you can get the usual club amenities plus meals (which we did not try).If you get the chance, pay them a visit - you are very unlikely to be disappointed!!!
I sat & had lunch By the lake. The surrounds are very well maintained. It was very nice. It was a sunny day so that helped. I walked across the bridge & back from Yarrawonga to Mulwala. Loved the old Customs House at the border. It was a bit scary if you stopped waking on the way across, as you could feel the bridge shaking from the cars & trucks. I went on a cruise which was very pleasant & interesting. There is plenty of water in Lake Mulwala, if only they would let some out so Cobram wouldn't have to suffer
Went fishing and got snags and bad attitude from nuff nuffs in speed boats. Pretty scenery spoiled by the roar of engines.
There is a bushwalk around the lake on Chinaman's Island which has informative signs along the way, there is also a river cruise to take on the lake which includes a/noon tea and added information as you go around the lake and is also a very relaxing afternoon on the water.
Caters for many water sports - skiing, fishing, swimming. Scenic with trees in the lake and boats etc for hire
Clean and tidy. Had boat ramp. Peaceful with great views. Did not dislike anything about the Lake area.
