Beer, beer and more beer and plenty of customers as well. This place was busy when the men decided to do a taste test. They tried the Taste 4 which is 4 different beers of your choice but they said whatever we get is good. They were not disappointed with the many oohs and arghhs and that lingers in your mouth, they walked away very happy and wanting more.
In the centre of this historic town, this attraction was well patronised whenever we visited.Attractive outdoor sitting area with small play area of kids plus live music from time to time. Try one of their delicious pizzas to complement the wide range of beers available or maybe local wine - but hey this is a brewery!!! Then just to prolong the pleasure, take a pack home with you. Great staff who take a pride in this place and will help you choose food and drink.
Excellent beer & food. My wife and I stopped in for lunch. We could have stayed all day. Great atmosphere as we'll. I will be coming back again
Having eaten and had a few beers here a number of times, I was keen to take some overseas visitors to experience what must be one of the great secrets of the North east Victorian region. Tucked down an alleyway in the old coach house building is a vibrant and funky brewery and restaurant. The range of food is of a high quality and there are good choices. They specialise in gourmet pizzas, which include roasted duck or apple and blue cheese. Both tasty and filling. The stand out for me though is the 6hr house slow roasted pastrami sandwich. Succulent and a little spicy with jalapeno peppers on home made beer bread. The best sandwich you will eat! There is a fabulous range of award winning beers all made on the premises. For me the pale ale is the best. A bold flavour that lingers on the tongue. Hard to stop at one. There are many other choices of drinks with a reasonable wine list on offer.Prices are good for high quality food and drinks, with pizzas in the $18 to $20 range for a large. The big serve of pastrami sandwich is only $16.50 and you need to be hungry to finish it!All the staff are friendly and helpful, as well as knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Owner Ben can often be seen serving an ale, and the business is run with style and efficiency.Stop in when you next visit Beechworth. A quick drink or and lazy Sunday lunch will have you relaxed and ready for anything.
Consistently great pizza with thin bases! We visit here regularly and always great. Service is good and staff are friendly and efficient. Always busy on a Sunday but try to get their before 1pm to avoid a queue. Good coffee and Gundowring Ice cream to finish off!
I've been here a couple of times and, in contrast to other rave reviews on this site, have been disappointed both times by the disinterested bar staff. I like craft beer and this was going to be a highlight of my trip last week but it was not to be. Whether they were tired or arrogant I don't know, but certainly more interested in talking to each other than yet another customer. So this customer went away thirsty and back to a much more friendly welcome at the pub. What a pity.
What a way to wash away the heat...sampling beer while munching on a classic pizza. Kids playground provides entertainment and allows you to have a moment to breath. Definitely worth a visit
We popped along to the Bridge Road Brewery on Saturday night. Started with a tasting of six beers, what a way to start. We then asked for our table that was mixed up. I had asked for outside, but was provided with an inside table. Easily fixed. We got our table, ordered six pizza's, had a pint of Pale Ale and a pint of Heffeweizen, both excellent and the pizza's were excellent. A perfect dinner, great food, great company and great beer. Now, this is just a note to management to maybe think of enhancing there smoking policy (if they have one). We were sitting on a table in front of the bathrooms outside the bar area. We were surrounded by family's behind and to our side and other young people in front of us. The place was very busy and being very sensitive to smoking, I looked around and saw one guy standing to opposite the play ground, getting through his cigarette as quick as he could, being a nice still night, others in his area would have been sharing his exhaust. I did also notice a few tables with ash trays, but no smokers. At the end of finishing our pizza, a couple of young lady's sat in the table in front of us 9no ash trays on tables). One lit up a cigarette, and she was so generous, we got to share the smell her cigarette (smokers are so generous). I mentioned to my friends how discusting it was. I don't care that she smokes, but this is an eating area and there was a family behind us and i had to suffer the second hand smoke. There were some greasy looks back an forward, but we thought it best we leave before I created a scene. Now, I only saw probably three people smoke in the two hours we were there. There may have been more, but none in our area, so maybe management may want to lead the way and ban smoking in this fabulous venue that they have. It should not affect business. If someone smokes and it is a still night, it affects a lot of people. If it was not for the smoking, we would have had another round of drinks.Food for thought, Management?
From the onset, the menu isn't large or varied by any means!! Which can have it's pro's, & con's to it! Lots of pizzas to choose from, & would highly recommend the pizzas. The other food, that we had anyways was ok, just ok! Nothing wrong with it, but nothing wow about it!! The beer tastings weren't all that good, our group have definitely encountered better. Overall it was nice, very busy so service wasn't that great, but they were busy. I went to beechworth this week/end, spent 2 nights there. We didn't go there, as we felt they live off their name and charge accordingly!! So I can honestly say, there's a lot better & more cheaper options around, with better service.
Sampling home brewed beer in a great setting, indoors as well as outdoors. Great atmosphere and ambiance. You can eat good quality pizzas and specials of the day. This place is my favorite in Beechworth. nd I never leave without having my small tub of Gundowring Licorice Icecream...YUM! Ps to the owners...a plate with home baked sourdoug bread and old fashion cuts of hard cheeses goes really well with dark beer! This idea is a success in Belgian monastry beergardens.
Went here for my 40th birthday with friends and family. All of the beers are superb and the pizza night tops it off must do if in the area!
This is a really family friendly brewery. The grown ups love the beer and cider tastings, the little people love the outdoor play equipment and we all love the friendly atmosphere both indoors and out. Pizzas are SO tasty, desserts are great and we are always happy to come back.
Busy Brewery, but still the staff gave great service, and the pizzas were generous and hot!Great range of beers and Cider to try too! This town is well worth a visit, it has such a vintage charm about it, and many of the buildings are in original condition, giving an insight into early Australia
We have been here many times. The pizzas are great as are the beers & wines. It is a nice casual place with helpful staff who do their best to find you a table even when it is really busy. It is particularly nice outside on a good weather day.
Loved the proscuitto pizza, the selection of beers ..... great atmosphere! Thanks! And arriving right on 3pm, still accommodated late lunchers ..... will come back again!
