A easy to find shopping plaza in Maroochydore Sunshine Coast. Has everything most people require from food and wine to homewares, gifts, clothing food outlets, book shops, etc and free parking. Great air conditioned place to spend time just wandering and relaxing.
If you are into shopping as a hobby, then Sunshine Plaza, Maroochydore is the best place to go on the Sunshine Coast. Once you get over the hassle of parking - it can be very busy there - you can then see a most unique shopping centre built on the river itself. I have never seen anything like it before! It is worth viewing for that fact alone! Other than that, it has the largest collection of shops, both chain stores and small shops, that you will find anywhere on the SC. When you have shopped till you dropped, then go to the Food Court and have your choice of victuals. It is a pleasant experience and well worth a bit of a drive to get there.
Go to The Cherry Blossom Restaurant for a fantastic Sashimi. Sorry ... no Sake. No Licence. Service was impeccable and the extent of the menu was more than one could expect. The Japanese Tea was never neglected with free fill-ups done without beckoning.
This place is unique because it has the Maroochydore River travelling through it. Not many plaza's have that. There is water activities you can do and the coffee shop on the water inside the plaza offers food to feed the fish. It's lots of fun for kids. It has it's usual shops large and small, a food court which offers a variety of food types from baked spuds, Japanese, Chinese, muffins, burgers, roasts, sandwiches, salads, fried foods, kababs, Mexican, steak houses, Donuts, ice cream, a hotel and loads of coffee shops plus more. All places offer good foods, fresh and clean premises. I haven't tried all the food places but they're always popular with others.Plus there's your Post Office, news agency, grocery stores and other things like nik nak things, clothes, jewelry, kitchen wares etc.Worth a visit definitely and take the camera because it's a lovely plaza to the eye. Check out the fish in the river, throw some fish food and see the liveliness underneath you. Everything you could want and more.
The Plaza has something for everyone. There are great coffee shops, places to eat, a huge array of top class shops. All set in a very pleasant setting. If you want to escape the heat for a while, the airconditioned centre is a great escape.
Great choice of shops with a wide variety of products. Unfortunately there was no butcher anywhere in the Plaza.
I'm a local, but when friends or family from outside the coast visit, we always take a trip to the "plaza." A great range of shops for the girls and plenty of food options as well. Including the food court and the "riverwalk" alfresco dining. Cinemas, pubs and clubs are all within the complex combining for a well rounded shopping experience.
Have been to the shopping centre a few times now and it has all the shops you need. This time we had visitors from interstate so went pacifically to go on the paddle boats around the shopping centre, which is something different and good fun, that are visitors had not seen before. We really enjoyed it as well as feeding the ducks with the small container of bread that you also get. Had a nice lunch, there is plenty of choice when it comes to having something to eat.
The Sunshine Plaza is a great shopping hub. It has all the big name shops you need a Myer, Kmart, Target, Woolworths, Coles along with many chemists and fashion stores. There is a good food hall, cinemas and the river it sits on has a few fun actives you can indulge in.I have always found the Plaza easy to navigate and get a park.
I love shopping here as there are several shops which stock womens clothing above size 16 - Blue Illusion, Susan's to name just two! Also a great range of eating places.
Arrive early if you would like an under-cover parking otherwise there is sufficient outdoor car parking (if you avoid the Christmas rush). The shopping centre has a variety of shops ranging from the large Department stores, the chain stores down to boutique shops. Heaps of eateries lace the centre and once again a variety of food. Some are alfresco and located by the river which runs between the centre whilst others are indoors. If you want a break from shopping, visit the cinema and while away a few hours watching a movie in one of their 8 cinemas. You could spend all day here regardless of age.
Parking was a challenge and this is one very spread-out shopping complex. That said it still had the important stores on holidays, like Target for those items you forgot to pack or realized you would need for the kids like floaties. Lots of other stores including Myer, Woolworths and all the usual for families, youth or upmarket.
This centre is awesome!!! Lots of activities for the kids and family fun!! It had every shop we needed!! The family restaurants were great that were there
A huge shopping centre! Easy car parking and so many shops! Even paddle boat hire! Great variety of shops. Lovely along the river!
