Fantastic place to visit on a family holiday. Stayed at Nina's Cottage, Yamba Beach Cottages, so Pippi's is just quick walk and you are there. Life guards in season. Hill to climb and fly a kite on. Highly recommend this holiday destination!!!
Great 5km+ long stretch of clean sand, clear blue water, top surf (minimal rips, currents), plentiful dolphins, whales in season, good fishing, the odd rocky sheltered headland at Lovers Point, Flat Rock and Green Point, perfect for surfboard riders and northern end is safe for those inexperienced bodysurfers. Only negative is lack of lifesavers (except in peak holidays), it's never crowded, always parking places, if you like your beaches natural this is a beauty!
Windy when it's a southerly but a great long beach for walking. Any accommodation along here is still close to town to reach on foot.
I'm reluctant to write this review because frankly I'd prefer if people don't know about it and hence can keep it more a secret. In fact now I think of it, don't go! That way I can have more of this spectacular area for me.
Good, well cooked cafe food with reasonable prices located next door to The Cove Beachfront Apartments.
Lovely beach but access to the best spots could be improved. The best part of the beach away from surfers and dogs has inadequate steps/ramps for those that are starting to age and have difficulty climbing and jumping. Areas that are supposed to be dog free need to be better patrolled by local council
Great wide beach with good protection from northerly winds. North end is great for beginner surfers and kids with better waves for surfers in front of the hilltop carpark.
Pippi has a northern and southern aspect. The northern beach is patrolled in summer and on holidays and the surf is good. The southern end is dog friendly and just recently was closed to 4 wheel drive access. I walk this beach every day and I just love it. You can see dolphins too, and the odd whale (if you are lucky).
It was a first for the grandchildren and they loved the wonder of the rock pools and the squeaky sand on the beach
you must visit this beach it is beautiful. Very big, lots of sand, very safe for kids. Only over the hill from Yamba main beach. Tables and chairs for picnics, it is lovely. No steep walk to beach like Yamba.
We were there on a Sunday and the length of the beach was being used by board riders with no specific area marked for body surfers, so that was disappointing. Good surf & clean water but not patrolled.
Beautiful, perfect little beach cove. Clear sight of water, great spots to set up and watch the kids romp around. Loved it.
Another beautiful, sandy beach in Yamba and worth a visit! We made sure while on our trip in Yamba that we went around and looked at every beach.
Just thousands of metres of beach to walk along, water to stare at or dip in, the jetsam of last night's high tide to explore and rocks to scrabble over at either end. When you are finished, the cafe's are only a short distance away.
This is a great beach. The northern end is patrolled in the summer months and while very safe for kids you can always get a good wave. You can walk literally for miles to the south - all the way to Angourie or take a short walk to the north around Lover's Point - a majestic headland that both adults and kids love.
