Great staff- knowledgeable in all there wines, Grounds are very lovely. Worth going to visit if in the area.
Summer or winter the gardens are inviting and the balcony is the ideal place to enjoy one of the famous platters. Arrive early as it is a tour group favourite, but on a warm day next to roses and hydrangeas, it's magical. You can also sit at one of the tables under the trees provided you order your food/wine inside, and the children can run and explore. The platters are a generous mix of local produce and quite enough for lunch. Large groups are catered for in a room overlooking the garden and the bathroom facilities are a very good standard.
Spent a memorable afternoon here - The wines were great but the best part was the beautiful lawn outside - perfect for relishing some cheese and wine. Probably the best winery we visited in the area.
A beautiful setting for lunch and a glass (or 2) of wine. The staff were helpful and friendly and the wines were typical of the area.
Beautiful surroundings and the Pinot Gris was Beautiful, the Staff who served the wine were not as pleasant as the other wineries we had visited and were keen to serve other people aswell as ourselves instead of taking some time to actually explain all of the wines to us individually.
Over the summer months Peter Lehmann Wines hosts "the noodle bar". This is a family friendly event set on Lehmann's fabulous lawns. A range of Asian foods are sold by various vendors and includes Indian, Malaysian, Thai and Chinese. You cannot take alcohol in, but you can certainly enjoy a lovely bottle of wine by purchasing from the cellar door. There is music playing and you can finish the night with locally made ice cream and a hot coffee or chai.
A great old family winery with excellent range of wines for all tastes. The cellar door and surrounding gardens are stunning, we enjoyed some fantastic mixed platters on the verandah, or you could picnic on the perfectly manicured, lush lawns, with ample seating and shade. Well worth the visit.
Nice wines to sample and a fabulous lunch platter that will fill you up for the rest of the day.The staff were so friendly and helpful and was a pleasure going there.
Spend 3 days touring wineries and Peter Lehmann's was definitely one of the best. It's true that good service makes the wine better, and the wine is already spectacular so the amazing service just made this a wonderful experience. The grounds and cellar door are very beautiful and the wines are fantastic. Thanks especially to Simon who was serving us. He was so friendly and helpful and really went out of his way to make sure we had a good experience, including finding a certain wine that I'd tasted in Melbourne 6 months earlier. It was really appreciated.Thank you so much.Definitely visiting again
We called in here as the second part of a three stop winery outing. The wine tasting was very good and we sampled extensively, just so that we knew what to have with our lunch.Lunch was a platter which was very good and certainly big enough for two to share. We had three between six and there was plenty to go round.Outdoor seating area and lovely grounds.Very enjoyable
With so many wineries in the Barossa, it's hard to chose which to visit, especially if you want a light lunch as well as a tasting. Peter Lehmann was a great choice; the tasting could be as brief or extensive as you'd like so you can tailor it to your taste. A comparative tasting of Shiraz suited us perfectly and the service was excellent with detailed and knowledgeable tasting notes. Lehmann also do a delicious platter of local delicacies which can be accompanied by a glass (or more!) of any of their wines; there are a number of attractive dining rooms or a lovely terrace. This was the highlight of our trip to SA and I'm looking forward to returning in the not too distant future!
My boyfriend was a big fan. The "Moppa" shiraz particularly special. Pretty cellar door. Good service.
Beautiful winery with a lot of history. Staff are very welcoming and pleasant. There's also a place to sit out and sip wine afterwards which is good, too.
The property is excellent, lots of room for picnics and drinks outside, the private rooms look elegant and staff are great.Wine is a personal preference and for me I didn't enjoy some of their wine but I know a lot of people love it!!Thanks for a great day
The name & history of Peter Lehman has created an establishment not to be missed. Fine wines and a fine location. One of the more commercial estates but never the less should be on everyone's itinery
