Love the children's water play area, the playground, the Museum (always something new to see). A great meeting place. Many Community events take place by the bandshell! See you there!!
The playground is super. The watermark is fun no matter how old you are! You can play volleyball soccer, or walk on the path next to the river. There is a lovely historical quality about the park and a First Nations Cemetary. Itis a beautifully maintained park and the flower beds are something to see in the summer.
In the summer, there's the steam engine train to ride and the water park for the kids. Near Exploration Place too. And the walking trails by the river go underneath the railway bridge to Cottonwood Island Park as part of the Heritage Trail system
This is a great place to take a family and play and have picnics play in the water and just enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the surroundings.
If you want a place to walk, run or bike go to Ft George Park. Fun times for kids with the water park and swing sets. Outdoor entertainment area often has activities going on during the weekend that you can drop in and enjoy
It's not large compared to other cities but is very pleasant for an afternoon stroll or get away. It has all the things a park should have. Breath and take it in if you want fresh air, a stroll by the river or stroll along the walk paths.
Nice place to walk around as well as some great scenery located near the river. You sit there and enjoy the view, have a picnic or whatever you fancy doing. If it's raining you can always go to the museum
A great place for a walk or the kids to play. Large open space in the middle of the city. A nice place to unwind.
A very large park along side the river bank. views to die for, and so many different tree's throughout the manicured lawns. Has a place for everyone, water park, kids playground, dog area, band stand, museums and wide open spaces. Even has a mini train and station.
Plenty of open space. Clean and tidy and lovely views of the river and bridges. No charge for parking and there is a Museum and areas for kids to enjoy.
Beautiful, large open park. Great playground for kids, nice water park. Huge area for the band shell and audience. Lots of room to play catch or frisbe. Nice paths with flowers and benches, beautiful trees. One end of the park has the Fraser River running past it. Very beautiful to see. Has a museum beside it, as well as a mini kids train ( whistle blowing ) and authentic old school. Also has one of the original structures of Fort George. There is a hedged cemetery and memorial of aboriginal decent people (for give me if I worded that wrong) over all great park, please visit, I enjoyed it for over 30 years :)
By far my favorite park in Prince George. Pack a picnic and watch the kids play in the water area or ride the train for 2$. Just be cautious of the lake ledge, There is no warning to the drop off.
This is a great spot for your kids to burn off some energy. Has a good playground with lots of climbing apparatus , model train engine, slides, etc. The water park (summer only) is also great fun for the younger set. There is several benches for adults to rest their weary bones at these venues , or bring a blanket and sit on the grass. There is walks thru the park and along the Fraser River, Souvenir snack store on site, plus bathrooms.
This park, right beside the Fraser River, incorporates a museum an historic school house and train station and a miniature railway for children to ride. The museum is small, but nicely designed and laid out. It had a touring Arctic exploration exhibit when I visited, as well as some interesting local exhibits. In the park, itself, here is a hedged memorial and cemetery area recognizing the Indigenous population which was relocated away from this site. There is plenty of space in the park for family outings. Lots of space for children to run, for picnics and long walks. Mature trees provide shade. The long river front walk is particularly nice. For birdwatchers, there are trails to the south and west that lead to the Hudson's Bay Slough. Definitely one of the highlights of Prince George.
The park has something for everyone. Playground for children, picnic sites for families, lots of room to play, a band shell with great entertainment . My favourite are the meditative walks where you see an abundance of flowers and shrubs as well as the river that flows below.
