This gallery obviously has its ducks in a row in terms of the quality of artists who exhibit there. During our visit there David Alexander ("The shape of place"), and Jane Isakson ("From the outer edges"), both acclaimed, established artists, were exhibiting their paintings. Both portfolios were shown to their best advantage in spacious, light-filled, high-ceilinged rooms. It was impressive.The building is beautifully designed and is an oasis of calm and creativity in industrial Prince George. The gallery shop has probably the best selection of art and craft objects and collectibles I've seen outside of Vancouver (in other words, no cheap trinkets). The staff were helpful, enthusiastic, personable - and seemed to enjoy their jobs. The gallery has programs of activities for all ages - and from the looks of the second floor where most of these take place, the programs are alive and well. We took part in one, "Make art make sense", which entails visitors drawing their own landscapes and pinning them on the wall for others to see. People, young and old, very definitely enjoying this.
