My girl and I just attended our second Rock 95 Toy Drive concert at the Ranch. We opted for VIP tickets this year to see the Trews, but won't waste our money again in the future. There is very little parking available in the VIP back lot. The "premium" bars don't have any better of a selection over the GA bars. There are 2 VIP lounges, one of which is located to the side of and behind the stage with a poor view of the performing band. The other would offer a great view if all the tables were not pre-reserved for concert winners, radio station personnel , and the owners guests. VIP tickets certainly don't get you a VIP experience in this venue. The 2 opening acts were terrible and loud. By the time the Trews took the stage, although they are a great band with an equally great live show, we were already tired of being screamed at and decided to call it an early night. Disappointing.
My common-law husband , me and three other couples were lucky enough to have won passes to the 2014 Rock 95 birthday bash held at the Ranch. We were all having a good time until out of the blue my husband, who NEVER embarrases himself from drinking too much or causes ANY problems EVER was asked to follow a security guy. Being the helpful type, he followed. As I watched another big security guy fell in behind him so he was surrounded and before he knew what was going on he was out on the sidewalk and barred from re-entering. They said he was too drunk and they knew it because they witnessed him stumbleing around. Well yes he tripped a couple times going back and forth from the bar because of the uneven flooring! There were thick matts or something covering cables or some sort of thing and it was PACKED and dark in there. I myself tripped when my feet got tangled in somebodys scarf that was dropped on the floor. What a disappointment! How embarrasing for a responsible man who just tripped over obstacles put there by the establishment. We won't go back. It's not such a great place anyway. No loss.
Halloween party was epic. We had a blast and will be there again. Staff were a blast and did their best to make sure the experience was great. Well done to the staff and management. I will be going again.
Everything about this bar was fun. The music was great and the prices were really reasonable. I will definitely return.
Please note that I put yes for a fee for the Ranch, it was for the concert... A big venue, lot's of bar with many very attracive servers, there is a restaurant also available, I did not use so no review, there is a VIP section, which I did use, this also let's you in before General Admission if you want to claim a spot in front of the stage... Overall good experience, I am not a big fan of GA concerts but view and sound were good... I would see other acts at the Ranch...
Recently played this venue. Great place, food, atmosphere, staff. This is a very well run establishment.
One of my favourite spots to go out at night in Barrie.Wear plaid, cowboy boots, cowboy hat...dress the part for a country bar!Majority younger crowd, 19-25 on average I would say. However, I am 28 and did not feel out of place. There were some middle aged groups of men and women as well.Best bartender is the guy with the long hair beside the dj booth, he always remembers my order and is extremely fast.I went to a female bartender at the corner bar backing on to the restaurant side and she was extremely rude. would talk to her friends instead of taking my order, and then when I finally ordered she poored half of shot in my drink, I called her out about it and instead of correcting it or proving to me that it was in fact a full shot she said "hunny I know my pours" and stuck her hand out for money and then go on the bar directly infront of me to dance in my face while I still had my drink on the bar.. RUUUUDE!!! I also have bartending experience - that was half a shot at best. needless to say I did not tip.
My friends and I have made it a birthday tradition to head to The Ranch for our birthdays. The atmosphere is so fun, the crowd is great, and its always a great time. The cages are so much fun to dance in, and if you get a chance, you better dance on the bar. Seriously the best bar in Ontario
I have to share a very bazaar story. I am very concerned about this bar. We attended a Serena Ryder concert on Friday night. I was a lil surprised to be physically groped going into the bar....but understood they were making sure people weren't bringing in their own booze but still felt violated when a male is touching a female and visa versa....anyway...the entertainer was very late on coming on stage....we had taken a taxi to this event as we were celebrating a birthday etc. A fight or something happened behind us and security came running from everywhere. Shortly there after, I was asked to go behind the stage where I was spoken to by security...he was asking if I was drunk etc and allowed me to return to the concert floor. My partner was then directed back there as well where she admitted to being drunk. One would assume that she would be asked to leave but no! She was physically picked up buy two guys and thrown out the back door. We were not causing any issues, and just having fun. I really feel that what happened was totally uncalled for, caused physical injury to my partner and was totally illegal as it was freezing outside. They didn't allow her to get her coat or have us exit the bar without using physical force which was completely unnecessary. I will never return to this bar and would suggest that others avoid it as it a total abuse of power and breaks so many laws.
I've only been to The Ranch B&G once, with a girlfriend, and it was in the late Springtime, so the garage doors/windows were open and that made for a patio-like feel; very relaxed. The food was your regular menu items and cooked perfect; the prices and daily specials were more than reasonable, and our wait staff was ok. (a little pre-occupied though). Because of the prices, and my own company, I look forward to returning to The Ranch. I think they should maybe sell some cowboy hats on the B&G side too. That would be fun and a good mechandise / promotion mover for The Ranch.
Have eaten at The Ranch Bar and Grill 4 out of 5 days for 2 weeks now. The food quality is awesome, the prices are ridiculously low and so is the manager. Was disgusted by the treatment I received today by Al, the manager and second in command of the club. I was told by the parking guy out front that I had to buy a pay ticket or he would give me a ticket. I was outfront with 2 employees and my wife. I went over to the giant, garage door window, which was open. I leaned in and grabbed my wife's purse from our seat. Next thing I know, Al comes barging out the door and tells me that's not a door, use the door and swings the door a couple of times for emphasis. I apologized and tried to explain about the parking thing. He muttered something explicit under his breath and went in. The waitress who was standing with us stared after him with her mouth open.Perhaps, a more customer friendly manager would have thought to politely inform us to next time not lean in the window, and use the door.Needless to say the Ranch B&G has lost my business. Hope they can do without a couple of hundred dollars a week and quite a lot of negative recommendations.
